I don't know if you were able to get the problem fixed, but I had the same sort of problem where it worked and then all of a sudden it stopped working right in the middle of a movie.
I took it to a repair shop and he found that it was the power supply... a $4.00 part.

There is an electrolytic capacitor on the bottom board of the "head unit". 1,000 mfd & 16 volts (C975). See if the top is bulged. Also check resistor R4843 and the associated diodes. See if there are char marks on the board under the resistor or diode D4709. Replacing the cap restored power, but the set has an interesting residual problem; the sound cuts off intermittently for a second or two. It is not in the subwoofer unit; the loss of signal is in the receiver unit. If you get the set to turn on, leave it run for a while to see if the same problem exists.

If something turns on the fuse isn't blown.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on; or it may turn on but produce no audio to the speakers.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

When one reports a fuse replacement it would be helpful to know if that was a Hail Mary wild guess or if the fuse was indeed blown.

On the bottom board is an electrolytic capacitor (C975) that might have failed. The top will be convex (bulged out). Since this is in the power supply, the unit will not work. Also: Check resistor R4843 and diode D4709 for charring on the board (indicates extreme heat). I have been trying to find the value of that resistor and so far no luck. Replacing the cap brought the set to life, but there is still a problem since the sound will cut off momentarily randomly. The receiver unit is at fault, not the sub unit. So I could use some help as well!! Good luck.

Hi,

If you have only connected red green and blue (component) plugs, you will have no audio as these 3 plugs are all for video and all are required or you will get a black and white picture.

You currently have 3 spare slots/sockets. You need to connect another RCA type audio cable (2 plugs - red and white) from the left and right audio out sockets on the DVD player to the left and right audio in sockets on the TV. Do not disconnect any of the red, green and blue plugs to use for the audio connection!

Red is normally right and white is left, but it doesn't matter which round you connect them as long as you connect right to right and left to left. The yellow socket is for composite video so make sure you don't connect either of the audio cables to this socket or you will get mono sound.

unplug the unit.wait a minute or two and plug it back in.turn power back ON.
Remove HDMI cable from the TV unit if you have one. Then plug it back in.
Or reset the unit to factory settings. Try these steps.
