Before you go changing settings... make sure you are stabilizing the fabric correctly. Towels especially requires a stabilizer on top AND on bottom.

On my MC200e the needle is disengaged automatically when I slide the bobbin winding spindle to the right.

slide the bobbin winding spindle. if that doesn't disengage the needle... your machine may need professional servicing.

Turn the tension up on the bobbin case. There is a small slotted screw on the bobbin case, usually at the 6 oclock position when the case is in the machine. There should be a small screwdriver in your kit. Turn the tension screw 1/2 turn and try it. No luck, try another 1/2 turn. If its no difference then set back to the original place. Sometimes junk gets jammed behind the tension plates in the bobbin case, they will cause this. A dealer may be the only solution.

The FC code refers to the (F)oot (Control) which is connected incorrectly, damaged, or defective.

take it to your local service shop ans have them figure out the problem .I personally bought a seperate bobbin winder(SIMPLICITY) from joann fabrics so I DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM
