Motor won't engage needle
A couple of things to check -
1. The clutch engaged?
2. The drive belt on and in good condition?
3. The machine been cleaned and oiled recently?
Bobbin will not thread
then the machine needs to be checked for a timing problem. or thehook and hook race could have a problem
I got a White 3032 sewing machine for Christmas
Have you got the bobbin in the right way ? Is the bobbin thread in tension? Turn flywheel towards you while holding the tail of the top thread, turn through one rotation so needle goes down into rotary hook then up again to top position. Now pull thread tail and bobbin thread should come up through needle plate in a loop. Draw the rest of bobbin tail up to top.
Can you get a lesson from sm retailer? They should give you a basic demo at least.
Consider buying a reference book on the sewing machine such as singer sewing machine book or similar. Sewing is a skill best learnt in classes if you can.
Why does my thread keep breaking on my machine
the top tension could be to tight
the needle could be damaged
try rethreading the machine just in case the thread is caught somewhere
clean under the needle plate & bobbin area for lint or loose threads
always make sure the top & bobbin thread tails are at least 3 to 6 inches long & pulled behind the needle to the back of the machine

Check that the needle is in the right way, flat shank to the back. If it is around backwards, the shuttle hook won't be catching the thread at the back of the needle to form the stitch.
