It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

LG front loader te code

A "tE" error code is more than likely the "thermistor" as CoolTech stated but fortunately it is not that difficult to service and doesn't require a technician (warranty expired for me, consider this for your own situation). It supposedly can't be serviced by untrained individuals (thus the directions to call for service) but the thermistor can be found easily by tilting the machine on its back. It is mounted to the back of the drum housing. I removed mine after getting a "tE" error...cleaned and replaced...no problems since! No screws needed to be removed. My thermistor is a small, round, black rubber grommet with the metal sensor pushed through the center. I removed the entire grommet. It easily pops back into place. The face of the grommet and sensor appeared to have buildup from hard water which easily came off without the use of cleaners.

The door looks like it

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

It sounds as if it has been bent then, and/or the hinge is somehow misaligned. Whichever it is requires a service engineer's attention I suggest. Sorry ;-0(

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Will not spin

First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000

Problem with the LG WM2688HWM TROMM SteamWasher

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I will start by acknowledging your post, If I understand correctly you have a LG washer...error code UE, correct ?

As you may or may not know the "UE" error indicates an uneven load...usualy a result of a obstructed drain pump, too much detergent, the wrong **type** of detergent, or trying to wash a single item of clothing..to name just a few reasons.

**Must use "He" detergent only**

If you can rule out these possible scenarios, it is possible to have a component failure, but I wouldn't be too quick to change out parts.

Let me know what you find or if you need further assistance to rule any of these things out and I'll try to assist you in any maneer I can. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I have a PE reading

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

LG's 'PE' stands for (water) 'Pressure Error'.
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

Now Manual!
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)

If these have assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

I have a LG Tromm

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

I believe the problem is with the sensor switch assembly that needs replacement as when pressing SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL at the same time after draining the water level frequency needs to be 255. And when pressing SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons at the same time while washing the water level frequency should be between 230 - 243. If it is reading this then it is the main power board that needs replacement, though I don't know if that is the board that is already replaced or if it is some other board that has been replaced. You can also check this repair manual if you want to do this repair yourself. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
