Pentax Optio E10 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
The battery cover was broken.
Unless it can be glued back together you are in trouble. The company may sell parts but doubt it. I have not had much luck tryong to get parts like that. Battery doors break often an they just say no replacement. Contact Pentax about it not a camera store unless you plan on them installing the door. Good luck on this one.
No picture
It is probably time to replace this one. Cheaper than repair.
Lens
Sorry. It is broken. The lens was most likely jammed on start up when trying to open or close when shutting down. The really bad news is that the cost to repair it is close to the cost of a new camera. (I have had several like this, casio, sony canon, nikon and olympus.)
How do I unlock my card?
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Memory card symbol has a small red bit on the screen and the camera wont take pictures
It is likely FULL. Try copying everything from the card to your computer. Verify the pictures are on your computer (so they you can delete them from the memory card) and then REFORMAT the memory card while in your camera. You do not want to delete them since it will wear out the memory card prematurely. Memory cards are pretty inexpensive. Buy a second, label them 1 & 2 and alternate. You'll always have plenty of room when a card fills up and you haven't copied them off yet.
LED flashing green and red
I had the same thing happen to me with my pentax optio. You may have to large of an SD memory card. Or you could have the wrong type of card. I would recomemd that you use a 512mb SD card. Not the SDHC card. Also i would make sure that the battaries are fully charged. Hope this helps you out!
What is max size of sd card?
SD cards top out at 2GB. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work.
Faided picture
If you went from inside to outside and immediately started taking pictures, you may have had condensation on the lens and that will degrade your images. Once the camera cools off, the images should come out fine. One other possibility is lens flare that's caused by having teh sun directly hit your lens when shooting. Hopefully this helps!
How to format memeory card
Insert your memory card with the USB stick to PC then PC automatically detect the memory card then 1) Go to My Computer2)Right click on your memory card 3)And choose format option4)A dialogue box will open then click on Format Button
When my camera is switched
Hello there,
You get this error when your card is write-protected. To unlock it, you have to take of the memory card from the camera. Usually its along the battery compartment. But you have to check the other sides just to make sure. One you have the card, look at the sides for a small switch. Push it the other way around to disable write-protect. Put it back to the camera and test.
Hope this helps you and someone out. Good luck!
When I put fully charged batteries in my camera
I have to say that you are probably using the wrong SD card. Or the memory card is to big and the camera cant handle all that memory space. I recomend that you try a 512mb San Disk SD Card. Dont mistake this for any card. Dont use a San Disk SDHC card. Do this and make sure your batteries are charged and you should of solved your problem. Good-Luck.
Pentax optio e10 opens for two secs whenoff/on
Your camera almost certainly has a lens error, this
is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock
generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!
Stuck lenses are probably the most common
reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair
chance of recovering use of your camera again
The fault is
commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it
having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera
was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and
tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply
become
dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.
If your camera
is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse
then contact the Pentax service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If
the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed
the
cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose
by
trying to fix this yourself.
Please click here
and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera
Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically
manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault. Although the article
mentions Canon a few times, the advice applies equally to all cameras
with lens errors and is not model-specific.

Good

at least are able to use the information to help decide whether to buy
another camera. If you do
decide that you have to throw your camera away then don't forget to
remove the memory card as it can be used in other devices.

Sounds like a memory card problem. Try using A 512mb San Disk SD Card. Not a San Disk SDHC card. see if that doesn;t help you out. Good-Luck
