Battery charger flashing red light

I have an Olympus Mju 700 that I haven't used for 3 months. Yesterday, I switched it on and the battery was low so I put it in the charger. For about 30 seconds, the light indicator on the charger was steady red as normal when charging. However, the red light starts blinking instead of being steady. I thought it might be because the battery was very low, so I left it overnight but til this morning, the red light is still blinking. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Laura.

Clean contact points of both battery and charger with q-tips dipped in rubbing alcohol. This solved my problem with blinking lights and not charging of the batteries.

Olympus Stylus 710 Problem with lens

Hi.. My Olympus Stylus 710 camera is one year old and I have been having problems with it recently. Basically the camera is unusable right now. When i press the power, the lens open halfway, the picture on the LCD is blurry and one second after the lens close and an error appears of the screen saying "D: 5f08 5f0e 5f08 5e02". Can you help me fix this problem? Sending the camera back to Olympus to fix will cost a bundle and where I live, no one fixes digital cameras.

Turn on camera. Blurry pic. Wirly grinding noises. Blue screen.
Codes on blue screen:

5 f 0 8
5 e 0 2
5 f 0 8
5 e 0 2

Sometimes smacking the **** out of it fixes it. Today it doesn't seem to do the trick any more.

Suggestions?

The camera serial number is located on the bottom of the camera or on the warranty card. If you mean the serial key for the Olympus Master software that would be located on the CD sleeve that the CD was packaged in.

Olympus Stylus 710 Error: D: 5f08 5f0a 5e02 5f08 5e02

This happens when i was about to connect my camera with the USB cord onto the computer then this screen shows up: 5f08 5f0a 5e02 5f08 5e02 with a blue background. so then i started a i started puuling the lens..but it didntr work, so i tryied hitting it...(but it only made it worst?)
when i turn on my camera, the lense opens ALMOST half way up and the lens in the center doesnt close all that way, and while it does, it makes a whirr noise. And it also shows the blue screen with the 5f08 5f0a 5e02 5f08 5e02. And then when i pres the power off/on button ( to try and turn it off) it doesn the same thing but makes the whirr noise once and the blue screen shows up AGAIN with the 5f08 5f0a 5e02 5f08 5e02. And then a while later without pressing OR touching anything it does the same thing again.
i can see the pictuers...but it wont let me takes pictures..
does anyone knows why this happens? and is there anyway the i can fix this?

this is the most common problem with the olympus cameras the lens has been knocked and by you pulling on the lens it sounds like you have done some damage to the motor that bring the lens in and out thats why its making that noise what you needed to do was move the lens either to the left or the right you will no when its fixed because the lens just pops out and the camera will be fine this works every time i just hope you havnt done to much damage alredy goodluck

The problem you are describing is a problem with the sensor in the lens assembly. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $86 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.

My Olympus U700 camera is coming up with a blue

My Olympus U700 camera is coming up with a blue error screen with the following message:- D:
340a
5f08
340a
5e02

and is not allowing to take photos and turns itself off after displaying the message. I am not sure what is wrong.
Almost the same: only two "error" messages though - 5f08 & 5e02. I noticed that yesterday. It's a u(miu) 700 ALL WEATHER.
Thanks in advance.

I can't upload photos onto my computer/laptop

This is the first time this has ever happened to me, but i went to go and put photos from my olympus camera to my laptop and the first dozen or so out of 60 worked and the rest of them wouln't work. It came up with a little sign saying that it couldn't be copied and to skip and try the next one and I did so but it wouldnt take to any of them at all. At the end it said 'see detailed error information' so I clicked that and another sign popped up saying 'the following problem occured while copying pictures: the parameter is incorrect'. I tried to upload the pictures on another computer and the same thing occured. I have no idea what this means or what a 'parameter' is or how to fix it without losing my pictures on my camera. Could somebody please help me in talking me through how I can fix it or if I should just delete the photos on my camera and hope it won't happen again and I just can't have those ones or something please! Thank you very much! Danni
