512 Intelligent stick usb 2.0 flash drive no format

Hello

My apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem , but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly in future.

Please download Disc Digger HERE. This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.

Once you have connected the memory disk / hdd to the computer , run the program.

On the program , select the dig deep option for accidentally deleted files or dig deeper for a formatted drive. Then select the disk you want to do the recovery on and run the program.

The data will be displayed and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has not been used since the data was lost. Save the files to a location on the computer hard drive and not back to the disk it is recovering from as this will overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.

Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.

You will also only be able to recover certain file types using this method.

Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.

Kind Regards
Andrea

I cannot format my USB.

Some usb keys or flash drives have a little switch that locks it & makes it read only. Try looking for something like this. Or you try following these steps:

For USB drives:

1. Open Start -> Run...
2. type diskmgmt.msc and press enter
3. right click on the partitin you want to format (where the leter and size is)
4. select 'Delete Partition...' and confirm
5. right mose button in the same place and select 'Create partition'
6. select primary partition
6. select size, file forma, disk leter, label etc should be all right if you leave defaults.
7. click ok

This will recreat the partition and format it in proper way.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!

You will have to be the computer administrator to change any values on any hard drive

click start control panel user accounts you should see a box with the administrator and the guest account if you have made one click on the administrator this may vary depending on which operating system you have

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value. click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine. # Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual. also If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to: - click start right click on my computer select open - Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something) - Click Properties in the menu that comes up - Click the Sharing tab - Click permissions - And finally, click Allow next to Full Control. hope this helps you

You probably need data recovery help to get the data off your flash drive but first try a free program like Recuva to save your data: http://www.piriform.com/recuva

A good choice for fast remote data recovery performed over the Internet is: http://FreeDataRecovery.us

Another reasonably priced choice but you need to ship out the flash drive is: http://300dollardatarecovery.com

I want to format my

On a Windows XP-based computer, you cannot format a Memory Stick removable media device by using the FAT32 file system because there is no option to for FAT32 in the Format Local Disk dialog box. The only available option in the File system list in the Format Local Disk dialog box is FAT

So that you can use NTFS option to your HDD and then format the removable media device
