Tatung V30DMTT 29.6 in. LCD Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Tatung uses Sanyo kit in their TVs. Follow the instructions to Sanyo, after confirming about the IC numbers used in your TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Just time and patience. If possible use a pencil iron. A gun is too much heat for the board. If you have the exact replacement be aware how the old one comes out.

First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. Is the back of the T.V. unusually warm/hot? If it is your T.V. may be overheating. If it's not in an open area, move it to an open area to allow more air flow. If it is try directing a fan at it. If one of those helps then your T.V. might be overheating and you may need to replace the cooling fan in it.

I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. This is a common problem and this problem might be there with any brand. Unfortunately, a manufacturer cannot recall the TV's on every fault. I understand your concern,however this is a common problem with most of the TV's. As you heard a pop up when you ON the unit, this is highly suggestive of a problem with power supply board. The caps on the board are prone to worn out and cause dead or no audio/video situation. It could also be due to large fluctuation in voltages.

Are you using a power surge?

Almost all the manufacturer's recommend people to use surge protectors.

Disconnect the cord for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then try to turn it ON.If the problem persists, this would confirm an internal fault ( more likely power supply ).

The only solution would be repair.If you have electronics repair experience, could solder the caps, could keep precautions, revert and i could tell you how to fix this problem yourself. The reason i mentioned experience - as i do not want you to hurt yourself while working on these sets.

If not, you could take the TV to small repair shop. If he could repair or rebuilt the board, that is good, unless you could buy the part and then hand it over to him,so that he would not make any additional margin on the part.

I use shopjimmy alot and have had very good luck with their boards. I found it there but its currently out of stock.
I would call them on Monday and see when they might get some in.

The part number is 6693006610, I also checked on ebay and found pretty much every part for your tv but the power supply.. You can search there using the tv model number and companies are always adding parts there as they get them..

I had no success with any of my parts vendors that carry replacement television parts. None of them carried Tatung..

Shopjimmy is going to be your best bet..

Replaced the INVERTER Board. This board is located on the eft side if you open the unit from the back. Get the Board number and order from ebay.com. I hope this helps you and nice to hear from you soon.

Did you ever get the tv working? The same thing happened to mine an hour ago.

I found a replacement Scheda power module at you guessed it, not at Toys R Us but rather at www.tvmodulesrus.com for $79. The same module is used in several LCDs, including our PowerSpec 30" LCD sold at Micro Center. It is listed under several numbers at TV Modules R US:

yes it will spread..the panel is very expensive to change.. get a new set instead.

As an electronics tech, you should know that replacement part information can only be obtained from the original manufactuer. A public "fix-it" forum is the least likely place for such specific information.
Have you tried asking at the supermarket? Of course not.

not a thing you can do = your lucky the screen is still working , leave it be~ replace with new screen when you can
for safty you can always place a small pice of clear tape over it, wont improve txt but it will stop dirt getting in and might give you longer life with screen.
