It is tough to find the right power adaptor with the "right" length cord. Your best bet would be to use an electrical extention cord for the added length you need. "if you can't get the adaptor to the outlet....... take the outlet to the adaptor' !!!!

Could be many reasons. You could check this: after removing the battery cover check that your connector is well inserted. Look carefully one of battey cable may be cut or not in contact!
