HOW 2 DOWNLOAD PICS FROM VIVITAR CAMERA TO COMPUTER
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

Hi,
I
am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. This is a common problem on
these models. It is either a faulty CCD sensor or LCD panel. If this is a
problem while taking new images, however old images are still perfect -
this indicates a problem with CCD sensor unless this is an indication of
faulty LCD panel. Unfortunately, in both situations, repair is never
advisable as the cost of repair would be high as compared to cost of the
camera. It would be wise to invest in new camera. Be advised that if it
is faulty CCD sensor, there were few recalls in the past for old
models. So, it would be worth giving a call to their customer service and
ask whether there is any recall or not. If not, they might offer a
replacement in lieu of this camera at a highly discounted price.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

The lens cap may be loose. Slightly loosen the cap, maybe even remove it SLOWLY.. over a table with a towel on top. Clean the lenses with a camera cleaning kit and reinstall the cap. Use the booklet that came with the camera. I have 3 cameras, as far back as the 1st Digital JVC 1.5 mp from '96 and I have ALL manuals and warranty papers for it. Hope you do, too. Be careful, take your time and do not Over tighten the lens cap. The circular Hold-Down cover over the outer lens.

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

I CAN'T TURN ON THE FLASH.WHY? AND PICTURES LOOK
usually by manually over-riding the automatic flash, the shutter speed varies (in this case it slows down, giving you that blurry or ghosted look) depending on the lighting conditions. If you are shooting in the dark (with flash), leave the flash on automatic. Only force the flash to fire manually if you are shooting in bright conditions, as a "fill-in" flash to reduce shadows.
