Nikon D50 Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My pictures have a reddish tint to them
If your pictures that have the reddish tint are taken indoors, the tint is likely caused by the lighting. You can set up a 'white balance" adjustment to fix that.

How to reset shutter count on nikon dslr
Why do you want to reset the shutter count? Are you trying to put one over on a buyer? The shutter count is set to zero at the factory in the camera's firmware. Unless you have access to Nikon's program and the knowledge and equipment to flash it to new ROM (Read Only Memory), you are out of luck.

Nikon D50 reading a Low Battery?
The SD card has nothing to do with your problem. Make sure that the battery is good; i.e., it is both taking and holding a charge. If you have a voltmeter, look at the back of the battery just under the three electrical contacts. You will see that they are labeled "-", "S" and "+". After charging the battery, measure between the "-" and the "+". It should measure 8 volts DC. Then measure between the "S" and "+" and it should also measure about 8 volts.
Next, you need to see if a short circuit in the camera is loading down or draining the battery. Put the battery in the camera. Keep the camera turned off and leave it overnight or for a day and remeasure the voltage. If it has dropped more than a 100 mv (0.1 volts) the problem may be with the camera. If that is the case, you will need to send it in for repair.

How do I charge a nikon clock battery
The clock battery is internal and cannot be removed or replaced except by a technician. It is recharged by your regular rechargeable battery, so there is no separate charging procedure. If you find that your clock and other permanent settings are being list when you remove your regular battery for charging, then it's an issue with the internal battery and should go to repair.

After taking a shot rainbow colors are on my screen. Why is this?
You're going to have to tell me a bit more about what your conditions were at the time. What kind of shot? Was the sun very close to the edge of your photo? What time of day was it? Morning/evening? Shutter speed, f-stop, ISO.
Without knowing what you were shooting and when, it's difficult to diagnose what the "problem" is. Did the next shot exhibit the same thing? Is it doing it all the time? Were you by any chance wearing polarized sunglasses when viewing the monitor or does it appear that way without sunglasses?
Sorry for the questions, but you don't give me much to go on.

I get "Err" on the
The ERR message indicates a camera malfunction. In my D-90 manual it says that it can be cleared by releasing the shutter. The only way to do that is to turn the camera off and back on. Rarely, that won't work and you have to remove and reinstall the battery.
The manual also says that it this have frequently or persist to contact a Nikon authorized service center. I would contact Nikon tech support at
www.Nikon.com and discuss the problem them before contacting an authorized service center.

Can't take pictures Full is displayed
This could mean exactly what it says...that your memory card is full and pictures need to be downloaded to your computer. If you've already done that, it may mean that you did not tell the computer to erase the pictures from your card.
If that's the problem you should be able to fix it by formatting the card. You can do that from the menu(little wrench icon) or by pressing and holding down the "delete" button (trash can icon on back of camera) and the "metering" button (to the left of the off/on switch) on the top of the camera. Both buttons are marked with "format" symbols.
If neither of these works, try replacing the card with a new one that is known to be empty and known to work.
The final alternative is to contact Nikon tech support at
www.nikon.com and see what they advise.

Histogram image
Press the up or down arrows on the multi-function selector button on the back of the camera to cycle through the various display functions until you get the one you want. The histogram display usually shows when you have unintentionally pressed one of the arrow buttons accidentally.

Err on top of display on camera
Unfortunately, this probably won't be a good situation. Most of the time the ERR(or) message you're getting shows when there's an internal problem, and most likely a shutter error. Not an uncommon problem with the older consumer models like D40, D50, etc.

Nikon D80 auto focus
I had the same problem but then I realized the lens was not "in" all the way. It had not clicked into place when I changed lenses. This might work for you....it did for me.
