Why is my affinity dryer not heating and showing error code 56

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand your Frigidaire dryer, model# ATF7000ES, is not heating and showing an error code 56. The E56 code means there is high motor current, meaning it is possible something is going on with the motor. The other possibility is this is a false error code. Please try resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

PAU error code comes on

Hello, welcome to FixYa

Based on the info you provided, specifically the E41 error, It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, or the control itself is bad. (E41= Shorted or open. Defective door lock assembly.Around 1500Ohms. Defective control board.)

The PAU simply indicates the control thinks it has been paused...that may be just a side affect of the door lock assembly.

Here's how to check...

**Unplug the unit from the wall first...safety first**

Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Should get a reading of around 1500ohms.

Attached here is a great tutorial for accessing the assembly for testing and replacing.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if anything is not clear.

Thank's again for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Door gasket is black looks moldy?

Good Afternoon Friend, I see that the door gasket on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000ES, is black and looks moldy. It because the mildew is not just on the gasket, but it is in the tub and in the pump and discharge hose as well. You need to reduce/eliminate the mildew in those parts. There are a couple of things you should do to reduce the causes of mildew. 1. Run the machine once a month, using liquid bleach, on the clean-tub cycle to clean out the machine. You might need to repeat this a few times to completely clean out your machine. 2. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the about and type of laundry detergent to use with your wash. Using too much detergent causes a buildup of detergent on the tub which encourages mildew growth. 3. After your final wash of the day, leave the door and laundry detergent open, wipe dry the gasket with a cloth. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your refrigerator status has changed successfully. -Best Regards- WP

Why does my washer do every thing but spin dry could a pressure swicth be bad on door?

Good Afternoon Dale, I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000ES, not spinning your clothes dry. First, if the drum is not spinning at all, I suggest resetting your appliance by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes. Once power is restored run a spin only cycle. If it starts spinning and the clothes are still coming out damp, try one of the following:
1)Try changing the spin speed to a higher speed. 2)Make sure that you have not overloaded your washer. 3)Make sure that the wash load is not too small. If you are only washing a couple of items, try adding 1 or 2 similar items to balance the load. 4)Try rearranging the load to allow proper spinning. 5)Check the drain hose for any kinks. If it is kinked, straighten it. If you are still having trouble with your washer spin drying, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician. Hope this helps. -Best Regards- WP

Affinity Front load washer will not spin out clothes

It could be the pump--and specifically the motor for the pump. The reason there is no water left in the drum is because there is a bypass for the extraneous water left in the drum at spin cycle. The pump then draws out the additional water. I'd check the pump line and assembly first, using the information found here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t289401-error_code_20. I had the same problem as you shortly before I started getting the error code 20, and you'll see how I (and others) solved it. I recommend trying the shortcut Keith_Mann offers and if the white basket has not gotten forced into the central pump chamber as it did with mine.

If there is no clog in the pump or drain line, the problem is likely the actual motor of the pump. I'd recommend troubleshooting it by leaving the back panel off, then taking a towel you've thoroughly wetted down and placing it in the drum and setting your machine to spin. Make sure the washing machine is still turned around so you can see the back assembly. Crouch down and watch to see/hear if the pump motor is activating. If not, you'll have to call a repairman to have it replaced.

Good luck. Hope you can fix it yourself!

E72

Hello Don, this is Z! Thank you for your post! I see that your Frigidaire washer is displaying error E72. Have you recently moved your washer to a different location or have the hoses been removed? If so, please verify that the hoses are connected to the correct valve. Otherwise, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose your washer since it may possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the control board of faulty valve(s). Hope this helps!

Does not empty after final spin cycle

Hi Peter, So I see that your Frigidaire Affinity washer is not draining completely after the final spin. I also see that you've checked the pump and hoses as well. There are a couple of other troubleshooting tips I might suggest. 1) Make sure the standpipe isn't too tall. Maximum standpipe height should be 8' (2.4 m). 2) Check the house drain pipes to see if they are clogged. If so, unclog the drain pipes. Contact plumber if necessary. -Best Regards-
