the drip pan is usually on top of the compressor or has a draw underneath with a coil to create heat for evaporation of water from the drip pan. Some time a rodent can drown in this location.

Check your rubber seal around the freezer door...has the door become easier to open?....is the seal in good condition all the way around, meaning that you are getting a good seal all the way around the door? If not, you will need to replace it.

GB2FHGXB01

Are you sure of the model number? I don't see a Whirlpool GB2FHGXB01 ; I do see a model GB2FHDXWB01. For this model, there are several different door handles. One has a Philips head screw hidden under a trim piece. To expose the screw firmly push the trim away from the center of the handle. (This is for a standard Whirlpool fridge door handle.) The French door style refrigerators have slightly different door handles. One uses Allen screws as set screws to secure the handle. (This screw needs a 3/32" Allen screw (hex key) and you can access it through a small hole in the underside of the handle on the loose side.) Be careful not to overtighten the screw or you may strip the threads and have to replace parts. The other option has the handle mounted on brackets on the door. To access the bracket, grasp the freezer handle and pull it to the left. Then pull the handle away from the refrigerator. For pictures of the handles, see pages 9 and 10 of the manual. It's available here: https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/User%20Instructions%20-%20W10366204.pdf . I hope this helps. If you do have the GB2FHGXB01, check if any of these directions help. Most refrigerators use one of the above door handle designs.Cindy Wells

Drain hole in fridge keeps filling up with water

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Freezer does not defrost automaticly,

Hello,

This is intended as a guide to defrosting a refrigerator that has the freezer on the top. Side by sides and bottom freezers may be similar but will require some different procedures to remove covers to get at the defrost coils.

If your refrigerator is not cooling but your freezer is still working then you most likely have a problem with Ice buildup. Sometimes the ice will start to form inside the refrigerator on the bottom of the freezer compartment, even though the refrigerator section is not staying cool.

1. Empty out the freezer section so that you can remove the bottom panel that covers the evaporator coils. Side by side refrigerators often have the access panel in the back of the freezer.
2. Use a hair dryer or fan to speed up the melting of the ice. Towels will be needed to soak up the water. A wet/dry shop vac and a hair dryer work the best. Melt with one and collect the water with the other.
3. Take the couple of screws that hold the defrost coil loose and remove the heater. With an Ohm meter check the resistance of the coil. If the coil is bad you will get either and open or shorted circuit. If you get a good consistent resistance then it is okay.
4. If your heater coil is good and the fan/blower is working then you probably need to replace the defrost timer or advanced defrost control board, whichever is in your unit.

Replace all pieces and wires to their original positions and then restart the refrigerator. It may take a bit for everything to cool back down, especially in warm weather. Now with everything working properly you should be trouble free again.

Take care in solving the problem....

The Refrigerator is 2 years old, and is no longer

Hi Chris,

The problem would seem to be that you developed a small leak in the refrigeration system. This is also assuming that you checked and cleaned the condenser coils which are underneath the fridge. Excessive dirt could also cause this, but from what you are describing I would say the problem is more then that and you have a leak...

The only other thing would be thermostat sensor issues, but then the compressor would be cycling and not running steady...

There are ways to adjust the door. It depends on your skill level. How many baskets are on rollers? Check the alignment of the top basket if you have one, it could be interfering with the closure. Put a video camera in the drawer with the lights on when you close it and look for blockage.

Fridge Not Cold Enough

You could do the simple things like clean the dust and stuff around the compressor condenser. Check the condenser motor. Good air flow improves performance and cost nothing to fix. Of course if you are experiencing a defrost problem the air from below gets choke out with ice buildup around the evaporator area. If you have frost on the backside of the freezer section changes is you have a broken defrost heater. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

It quit making ice and there is frost on the back

Hi,
If this is a auto defrosting freezer then you defrost clock or defrost heating element may have failed. It is not making ice because the evaporator coil is frosted up therefore not cooling freezer cold enough to cycle the icemaker. You can manually defrost by removing everything and unplugging and leaving doors open for a day or two. Or you can look at having it repaired if you are very mechanically inclined you can try to repair yourself.
If I can help with anything else please let me know.

I was given a Whirlpool ET1FTK 20.8 cu ft

Start at the top and remove the hinge (5/16 socket). Slip the door off and remove the center hinge. Slip the lower door off and remove the lower hinge. Now is the time to reverse the door swing if it needs it. Move the handles to the other side and reassemble with hinges on the other side if you do.
