How to check the dishwater float

Check out this site. Usually you can tap the float on top and if it's stick that will free it. The problem would not be filling properly.

Whirlpool dishwasher won't work at all

Hi,

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

Clean light flashes 7 times

Hello,

The light flashing 7 times indicates error code number 7 and E7 is a error code for the flowmeter. What the flowmeter does is measure the amount of water coming into the dishwasher. The E7 error code can be cleared aby pushing the buttons in this order

HIGH TEMP WASH-HEATED DRY-HIGH TEMP WASH-HEATED DRY -- OFF/CANCEL

The error code will be cleared after pushing the buttons in that order...if after running the E7 error code returns the flowmeter would need to be replaced

The flowmeter is the part on the left side of the tub it is where the water enters the tub
this is what it looks likeoldtech2332_96.jpg
The part number for it is W10195536

Green light flashes, book says

Hi

If green light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Our "Clean" light is flashing green continuous and

Try running a cleaning cycle with no dishes. If you have hard water, try adding a little CLR, or cleaning solution. Check the bottom of the washer for clogged bottom drains. Also check the manual if you have it. Sometimes holding down the button for almost a minute will reset the systems alert for cleaning. Unplug and let it set for a few minutes. Good luck

Top spray arm does not turn during wash or turns

It will spin freely by hand, but needs to spray water out of the jets at the trailing edge of the arm. Check inside the arm for blockage and make sure that water is getting to the upper arm from the pump.

My 5 year old Whirlpool dishwaster will not fill

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
When the water comes however, won't go inside the unit then it indicates that the problem is either with a clogged/blocked inlet valve or the water inlet valve itself has gone bad and needs replacement. You can also test two terminals of the water inlet valve before replacing it. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Leaking at the water inlet.

Please dry the water inlet completely. If you have already located the place where the leaks takes place. put Araldite glue/adhesive and let it settle and dry. This should stop the leak without changing.

DISHWASHER HAS NO POWER

Hi,

The first thing to check is your breaker box to make sure the breaker did not trip. If that is okay then you may have a blown thermal fuse inside the control panel. I have put together some instructions on this repair. Follow the link and let me know if it was helpful.
