How do I fix F20 code

How to fix Whirlpool Duet F20 Error: Whirlpool uses a flow meter that detects the flow of water entering the washer. If this flow meter does not detect the correct amount of water entering the washer it will sound the F20 error code. Often this repair can be made with out calling an appliance repairman and without ordering parts. Start by removing the washer fill hoses; both the cold and the hot water hoses. Check for proper water pressure from the house. To do so, turn the water on and put the hose inside the washer or a bucket. If water pressure is good, check the water valve inlet screens. Most residential washing machines have inlet screens. The screens prevent minerals from clogging the solenoid. With the hoses removed, you can visually inspect the water inlet screens. If the water valve screens are clear the inlet valve with the screens itself will need to be replaced. To replace the water valve, remove the top of the washing machine. Three screws hold the top down. The screws that hold the top down are on the back of the top panel. Once removed the top will slide back and off. Now remove the wire harness that connects to the valve. One screw holds the valve to the washers cabinet. Removing the screw and sliding the valve over will release the valve from the back panel enabling you to complete your repair. - See more at: http://www.appliancerepairlesson.com/2011/03/12/how-to-fix-whirlpool-duet-sport-error-code-f20-washer-repair-troubleshooting/#sthash.2RAhsfLg.dpuf

These front load duet washers call for a lot of water quickly. So if you have stainless steel braided flood-safe hoses, they will trip for no reason at all. Replace these flood safe hoses with more traditional hoses. - See more at: http://www.appliancerepairlesson.com/2011/03/12/how-to-fix-whirlpool-duet-sport-error-code-f20-washer-repair-troubleshooting/#sthash.FHzIAYn8.dpuf

My whirlpool duet stacking washer wont spin or drain. i tried to do it manually as described in my owners manual with no luck

Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly. Drive Motor If the washer won't spin or agitate the drive motor might be defective. This is not common. Check all of the other related parts to this symptom before replacing the motor. If the motor is visibly burned out or physically damaged, replace it. Stator Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed. Transmission or clutch assembly not engaging due to going out or slipping. Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design. Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design. Motor Control Board If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor control board might be defective. The motor control board provides power to the motor as well as direction and force. If the motor control board is defective the washer may not work at all or function properly.

Code f 20 what does that mean and how can I fix it.

A possible solution to an f 20 fill error for a whirlpool duet washing machine. Blow out the pressure hose that connects to the pressure switch. Before doing any of these fixes first ask yourself if you have over loaded the machine. Too many Bulky - heavy items will cause this same message. Polyester golf shirts and a tablecloth came out of my front loader washer with a ton of pulls on them. any ideas why? not at the same time either.

Carefully check the drum for something that would grab the fabric, such as a piece of embedded material in a hole. I would feel all around over every surface, and look at where the agitators meet the drum. Something is there that is grabbing the material. Good luck,

Sometimes there is water still in the washer when it is done

Check owner's manual troubleshooting. Sounds like a load out of balance and shut down because of that.
