F01 is a failure of the main control board.you can try unplugging the washer from the wall for 10 mins and restart again. If the code comes up again then you have to replace the main PCB
I had the same problem but the reset suggested above didn't work for long. As it turns out, I had a sock stuck in my trap. Gettign to it was a pain because this model doesnt have a convenient access door in the front. I made a video below that can show you how to check the trap.
I am not an expert in such things.
Solenoid valves control where the water goes and the controller and the clock sends, or should send, a signal to the appropriate solenoid at the correct time.
In the case where water is permanently misdirected it would seem to be a case of the wrong pair of wires connected to the wrong solenoid after a repair, for instance,
In the case of intermittently misdirected flow it is likely to be a faulty controller, though possibly could be faulty wiring or connectors to the control board, perhaps because of a small water leak.
Jerry, if you lift the top up to your unit you will find a repair sheet along with the codes inside, that will help you through your problem. Normally when this happens you will have to replace the main control board in the top of your unit. Check for the paper work first though.
The SD error can mean a couple things. Suds detected, this happens when using the incorrect wash soap. It has to have the "he" logo on the packaging. I know because I used the wrong soap. My clothes would spin but not drain the water. It gave me the SD error. But it can also mean that there is clog or something in the drain hose or drain pump. I had my husband raise up the washer so I could check the hoses for baby socks or ridiculous amounts of dog hair. I found a clump of polyfil from a dog bed right at the intake of the drain pump. I removed it but still no luck. It seems the drain pump was burned up or working at a seriously compromised position. He removed the pump for me and I ordered a new one on Amazon prime. I searched for exact model and oem drain pump. It came in today and I installed it myself. Finally, after a couple weeks I was able to wash and dry towels in one whack! I figured all this out by coming here and searching for a free service manual for my make and model. The service manual really goes in depth on making repairs and it was easy to understand. It gives you the error code, possible reasons and how to fix or troubleshoot them. I had numerous problems with my cabrio and as of tonight, I have over more then to fix and it is probably polyfil related! Good luck.
TERRY , CHECK THE PLUG IF IS GFI YOU NEED TO RESET THE PLUG IF THERE IS A LIGHT ON THE PLUG THERE IS A LITTLE RESET BUTTON YOU NEED TO PUSH IN TO RESET ??
On this model you must replace the interface board that controls the buttons on the face of this machine, normally about $300.00 give or take. Sorry, but I hope this helps. you can order it from sears or some other company to see if you can get it cheaper than a repair service.
Have you checked the main plug. is it a fixed plug or one that has been fitted by someone?? CHECK.
If flickering only at times then it seems to me the main board or timer could be lose? Are you positive you have checked every section? You sound confident in doing checks. Make sure not plugged in when your doing your checks. Be safe.
Check on a different mains socket also. If stops, then the wall socket may be faulty. DONT USE. Lose wire in socket?????
First, unplug your machine. You will then need a T-20 torx driver - remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel. Pull down on that panel and you can then pull it away from the washer. Once you have done that, reach up and you should feel a ring just below the door lock. Pull that ring and the door will open.
Be aware though that the Fr error for Whirlpool use to mean a drain problem. If the machine does not drain, it will not want to let the door open. After you get the clothes out, if you want additional help, let me know.
Normally when the door doesn't open, there is water in the tub. It's a safety feature. Have you tried running a drain and spin? A clogged up drain pump chamber or a bad drain pump can cause this. Another issue might be with the door lock it self. If the internal mechanism breaks, it can cause the blinking lights. Good Luck!
