Mr. Heater Portable Kerosene Heater - 175,000 BTU Questions & Answers
Wont fire after following start instructions
OK-- Let's go thru your trouble shooting steps, and what you found:
1.) Fuel: Sufficient, and right type?
2.) Has the unit fired and run before?-- What is different in sounds, or settings now?
3.) How does this unit ignite the fuel?-- With Spark, or with Glowing ignitor?
If Spark-- can you hear it sparking?
If Glowing ignitor, -- can you see the glowing? (in a darkened room..)
4.) Can you see that Kerosene is spraying at the nozzle?-- is the pattern correct?
5.) Have you check fuel and air pressure settings-- according to the manual?
After observing these details-- let us know what other clues you are observing now.
I'll be here to take you to the next step, if you like--- Just add your new comments in the 'respond' box-- they will send them to me for further follow-up.

My mr. Heater lights only stays lit for about 3 minutes and then it goes out
I had this same problem with my heater. I cleaned the propane tube where the flame comes out (after it’s off and cooled down) with a Qtip and some alcohol. After removing some cotton, it will fit all the way down to the end of the tube. Repeat until it comes out clean and stays lit. I had to repeat with 91% rubbing alcohol and more Qtips, and most of the cotton removed.
