Durabrand DWT2405 24" TV - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Picture Tube
Hi. Thanks for writing this posting. Saturday, my 19" Durabrand tv literally stopped working. Before it shut down, I had a partial screen and when I turned the tv off (hoping that the problem would somehow rectify itself), it wouldn't turn back on. I had it for only *four* months. Comcast gave me an 800 number but it rang to a fax signal. When I saw the posting here, I clicked on the Lenoxx site and called their 800 number which did not even ring. I called information and received a number, 877-874-8394 for Lenoxx Manufacturing but the person who answered said that they are Plaza Wire Design with Lenoxx being one division - but they manufacture towel racks. Ugh!
Unfortunately, this all happened one month after the 90 day return policy at Walmart *and* they don't even carry the product anymore. (I don't know whether it is because of defects or turning over to LCD.) One year prior to this, I purchased a cd/radio which also stopped working (the cd player). Luckily, it *was* within the 90 days of purchase and I returned it. They stopped selling that product as well.
What recourse do people in our situation have?

Low Volume from headphone jack...
I do not think that this TV does not have a separate circuitry with its volume control for the earphone. If your earphone is mono, are you using a plug that is mono to connect the speaker?
Try using AWG 20 if you could to see if that helps.
Good Luck.

Remote control
HI
I would suggest getting this universal remote, it is a Phillips Universal Digital 5 device remote, I have yet to find any device this remote will not operate, it is simply outstanding! it is a Model PHDVD5, and WalMart should have it, not too expensive but its worth its weight in gold! just follow the instructions in the manual for "Programing with Code Search" Page #12, goodluck:)

TV Fuse
I would think any standard fuse with the same rating would work.
If your fuse is blown you also have something shorted in your set.
You could try one and if it too blows then you'd need to have it checked out.

Switch from AV to regular TV viewing
You try pressing the AV button on the side, sequentially until it changes back to a Channel Number. It should cycle through AV1, AV2, RGB, etc

Durabrand television model Dwt 2405
Dear friend, Try connecting a pair of Headphones to the Headphone socket in the front of the TV. Do you get sound in both headphones? If yes, then it means that the Right speaker has become faulty. No sound in Right Headphone? Then the Audio Amplifier IC has to be replaced.

Cable hookup
Sounds like the tuber input has broken. This is very common in todays TV's. A local shop might be able to re-solder the connector bacck on but, if not then the tuner will need to be replaced. Call around and see who might give you a free estimate.

TV Fuse
Most of the time the manuafactirers put the fuse around where the line cord comes into the back of the TV set. are you sure the fuse is bad? Are you thinking the fuse is bad because the TV set will not come on?

Channel set
If you're on cable you need to make sure your set is in the "cable mode". After this you choose from the menu "auto program" or "auto search" and then hit the button on your remote or on the front panel and your set should go through all cahnnels and remember the ones that have a signal on them.

TV plays some channels in spanish
The tv may a SAP circuit fault (Second Audio Program).
This circuit can mess up and cause some channels which are carrying SAP to put out the wrong language.
I've seen this happen a few times. AN IC may have gotten zapped when the transformer blew.
Possibly the microprocessor IC.

Right speaker not working
If it happens on both TVs and when you switch the cables and the other side works, then it is not the TV set and something with the Xbox or the cables going to the Xbox.
