Dx-kbom2 keyboard
Hello,
I don't know if this helps, but it sounds like something was spilled into the keyboard. I have seen a lot of things like this, especially with the multiple keys hit off of 1 keypress. Usually non-diet soda or coffee with sugar does wonders for the keyboard!
To try to see if we can get it working...if it is actually worth a lot of your time since you can get good keyboards for under $20, try the steps below.
1. Turn keyboard upside down and shake vigorously. I have seen everything, including paperclips, pencil leads, metal shavings, and staples inside keyboards. Try to get everything you can out of there.
2. Blow dust/dirt out with an aerosol duster. Make sure to run the airstream along/around all the keys, not just the ones that are giving you problems.
3. This one is for experts, but if you want to give it a whirl. Use a partially opened paperclip to get under keycaps and lift them straight upwards from keyboard. First do only the keys that are giving you problems. Check in/around the contacts, or if microswitch keyboard, check that the little switch actually clicks when pressed. If it is a capacitive keyboard, look for stains and such from spills.
I hope that this helps you out. I would only go through steps 1&2 myself. I abuse the hell out of keyboards, so I always have a couple of cheapies on the shelf waiting. If you check WalMart or some of the other stores like that, you can find decent enough keyboards in the $5-$10 range. With me, they all last about the same, about 6 months, before I have to replace them, regardless of the price I paid for it. If it isn't going to last too long, cheaper is better!
Good luck,
Ken
