AEG S72348KA ST STEEL Refrigerator - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
FRIDGE HAS STOPPED WORKING
Top of Form
If there is no coolingat all , before we go further we must confirm the first step of confirming thecompressor and gas pressure. So shut off the fridge and leave it off while youclean and check the evaporator for frost. If frost is seen it is a goodindication as the compressor is working with sufficient gas within.
Now after about 6 hours plug in the fridge to start. Observe cooling to happenin about one hour and ice to from under three hours.
Earlier make sure that the thermostat was set to normal mode for freezer andfridge. If there is no ice formation we have a big issue as the compressor andgas must be checked out. If compressor is running check the pressure, get helpto test gas pressure. If not you will need to fill up ,If gas pressure is goodthe possibility of the compressor being inefficient is high. In such a case youmust take consensus to estimate and decide, if RPM of motor is low checkcapacitor.
However if Ice forms then observe the fridge for about 24 hours for cooling tocontinue and the fridge to cut off . If not the auto defrost timer, or thethermostat must be checked.
If defrost timer works but frost keeps forming check while the compressor shutsif the heaters are working, check continuity of the heaters.
So try this test from the outside and make your observations so that we come tothe solution.
From time to time stops
A refrigerator must defrost 2 - 3 times a day. It does this via the automatic defrost cycle. When the cycle starts alll motors shut off and there is a heating element that is in the evaporator / freezer section of your unit. That heating element melts the ice until the 60 Deg F bi-metal thermostat cycles and terminated the automatic defrost cycle. During the defrost cycle is is normal to hear a hissing sound as the melting ice drips on the heating element assy. Addiionally you may hear coolant gurgles as the unit shuts off to start the defrost cycle and the coolant system equalizes the internal pressures between the pressure and return lines. Again another normal sound. If your unit did not stop to defrost 2 - 3 times a day in a matter of 3 to 4 days you would have a large block of ice in the back of your freezer section and the evaporator fan blades would be hitting that ice block. The freezer would say cool yet probably no longer make ice. Also the fresh food compartment would start warming up. Hopefully this resolves your concerns. If you need more assistance just respond to this post and I will help you.

Arctis 3100. Why isn't it freezing?
There must be a gas leakage due to which the refrigerator is not cooling. Better call a technician to fix it.

I have an AEG SANTO OKO fridge unit only about 1 year old.
We just cannot open the door without it being pulled 2 inches on every open. I have since placed it on a rubber mat with no success
You have very good door-seals,
with strong magnets on the refrigerator.
I suspect, You must pull hard to open the door.
Does the fridge have 2 wheels?
It may only stand firm on 2 "legs" and not 4.
This problem is the first, I ever heard,
I do not know this model,
If it is a Refrigerator that is not very heavy, this can happen.
When the door seals are very good, what can happen is
The door has been closed and the air inside the fridge becomes cooler and cooler.
The air inside the food-compartment contracts,
because it cools down and pulls even more on the inside of the door surface, actually pulling the door shut.
( a negative air-pressure inside the fridge) compared to
the outside of the refrigerator.
A trick I am using is,
1.)
I place my finger between the door and the cabinet-frame.
2.)
Then, with the finger, index or middle finger,
I push gently
against the Door-Seal (Gasket).
for 1 or 2 seconds,
This allows the Air from outside, (higher pressure)
to flow into the food compartment of the fridge
and now it is easy to open the door.
Let me know if this works for you.
Appreciate to be alive and be kind to others.

Fridge too cold
Return your thermostat to 5 setting. If this does not help, it is probably the contacts inside the thermostat are welded shut and needs to be replaced. You can find you replacement thermostat with your model number on Searspartsdirect.com.

Refrigarator not working after power outage
When power goes on and off suddenly, it can cause the compressor to overload and "trip out" This is supposed to protect the compressor from being electrically damaged. In most cases, after 10 or 15 minutes, the compressor will reset. It is usually safer to switch off the fridge or unplug it for 10 to 15 minutes to ensure a full reset. If it doesn't start, the power surge may have damaged the compressor relay. or overload device on the side of the compressor. I would doubt that it damaged the compressor itself. Be aware of the relay and overload device, unfortunately, there are Techs who will quote for a compressor job when all it needs is a relay or overload.

AEG 78738, no ice made
It is possible that water line to the ice maker is frozen. Try thawing it out with a hair dryer and see if that solves the problem. It could also be the solonoid valve located behind the fridge where the water line connects.Make sure the arm above the ice bin is in the down position.Hope this helps.
