If you have done a code search method, and it too doesn't help you, the remote control you have had no setup codes to synchronise with. Give it up, and buy an new one, which has setup codes for your device.

Here is the manual. It helped with all devices but my magnavox cd. The codes in the book did not work, nor did the search method. The tv and the vcr search worked. Good Luck, Dan

Hello, you can try the search method,
you do this by either holding down the device button eg: TV or if you have one the "magic" button for three seconds, a light should then flash twice to say you have done this correctly.
then press the keys 991 then the power button.
you must now press the channel up key (ch+) possibly upto 150 times while the remote cycles through every code.
Once your tv or device switches off stop pressing the ch+ key and press the power button to make sure it switches back on,
(if you press ch+ too many times you can go back by pressing ch-)
When complete press the magic or device key again to save the settings (light should flash twice to confirm)

If you have the model number of the Radio Shack universal remote, that would help tremendously. There are several that were made. If it's the model 15-302, here are the codes to try. This remote control have no set-up codes to Vizio. Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. No Magnasonic DVD players are listed. If your Magnasonic DVD/VCR was built more than 6 months before the remote was programmed, then the remote has the best chance of having the correct code. The copyright date for the manual appears to be 1999. I hope this helps. You may want to try searching through all of the codes. Codes would be for what .you are trying to connect to, not the remote itself

Check for fuses first, Some fuses are soldered to the board and not easily identified unless you read the printing on the board. Over volting can cause filter caps to open as well as the power transformer winding's. Some transformers have fuses buried inside, Test the windings with an ohm meter. No reading would indicate an open internal fuse. Doing surgery on that type of transformer can restore it by taking the fuse out and joining the wires.
