I have an AEG B3101-4

first check the power to the unit itself, to be sure the house power is on , if the unit is totally dead,, then remove the back to locate a fuse that will be just next to the incoming line, check both of these items with a volt meter if you feel thats something you can do.

Went to switch oven on

HI, Sounds like your from the UK
If you are referring to a trip switch as being equivalent to an American circuit breaker. (Electrical safety device designed to shut down power to an electrical appliance). Then we are on the same page.
Do the following diagnostic procedure:
1 SHUT DOWN THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE OVEN. I.E. THE TRIP SWITCH/CIRCUIT BREAKER.
2 Open the oven door and look very carefully with a flashlight at the heating element. Look at the the entire element. If it blew (similar to when a light bulb blows) you will
find white powder around the hole in it or it will be completely broken, or have bubbles in it. Some indication like that. If so it has failed and must be replaced. It is probably tripping the switch because it is shorting out somewhere. There is also the possibility that the internal wiring connectors to where the element is mounted into the oven walls is broken off and short circuiting against the oven chassis (walls). That being the case, it may be just a wiring repair in which you install new appropriate electrical contacts and re-connect the element.
Hope this helps,
Happy New Year,
Mark

My AEG B3101-4 oven works for about 30 mins, then

It is a safety thermostat that is cutting the oven off, due to overheating.
It could be that the external cooling fan is not working, or the cut out itself is faulty.
Check to see if you can hear the fan working.
This is usually located on the top of the oven , at the rear of the oven, on the top .
Hope this helps.

Fan won't knock off.

Hi.
the most likely cause is a failure in the cooling fan cut out switch.
It is located underneath the top cover of the oven.

replacement is fairly straight forward.
I have attached a photo so you know what it looks like.

I can supply you one if you have trouble sourcing one.
Just email me on [email protected]

Oven gets too hot AEG B3101-4

Hi I am Vortash This sound like the thermostat cut out switch and if it is glowing hot then you have a serious DANGEROUS fault
it means that it is not disconnecting as it should and has shorted ot .. please get it changed immdeatly as it may short to the oven body causing it to become live .. now that should mean that the house fuse should blow .. but on the slight chance it don't you would be electrocuted if you touched the oven please call a domestic service engineer now Regards Vortash

I have an AEG B6139 electric oven and the interior

Hi I am Vortash it sounds to me as if the oven element has blown you need to have it tested by an engineer .. he will check for continuity .. if it is open circuit then you will need to replace it .
I would hev thought that if the fuse had gone the oven would have no light or functions of any kind as the power would be off .. unless this model has an extra fuse fopr the element alone doubtful however it does have a heat sensor cut off above the oven that cuts off the element from the supply .. If you have no manual for this unit you will find one free to download from http://www.safemanuals.com .. regards Vortash

Aeg b3101 oven / grill cutting out

Ther are a couple of possibilities that could be causing your problem.
A thing called the safety stat could be cutting the oven out, it is designed to cut off the oven in the case of overheating This is what brings on the cooling fan. Sometimes they cut out prematurly for example you may not have enough vetilation, check for restricted or blocked vents.
The stat itself could be faulty again causing the oven to cut out,and then as it cools down it resets itself and so on and so on.
The thing to do after you hve checked evrything else is toichange the stat.
It is usually located on the top of the outer oven compartment, it is about 1" or so long with a feed in and out of it
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks, and merry xmas.

OVEN CUTS OUT

Could be a sticking thermostat, or a safety stat operating, this cuts off the supply to the oven if it gets too hot for any reason, then when it cools down a bit the oven comes back on,
If it is built in, make sure it has plenty of ventilation, and check the vents to see if clear..
The safety stat is usually located at the top of the oven under the top cover.
Hope this helps.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.
