Pulled out heating element both

Hi franklin bai

Yes the element is faulty...replace it...but also check some other things...see below

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Check your Wiring
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks.
If this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the
wire is attached.
Check the Door Switch
If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed
component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame.
Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.
Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed.
If not replace the door switch.
Check to make sure you heating problem is not a lint build up in the discharge hose or the dryer,as this condition can cause
heater/thermistor problems such as overheating of the heating coil leading to failure of the coil and burnout of the
thermostat/thermistor due to overheat.
Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistors. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor one at a time by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape
or with an ohm meter to test the thermostat/thermistor. (Should have/show continuity)
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
(Thermal fuse.If it overheats the dryer will not operate. It's located on the blower housing. It cannot be reset. A vent clogged
with lint can cause it to overheat. You can test it with an Ohm meter or continuity checker, if no continuity, replace it)
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST.
This could cause a FIRE, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on 'air fluff' / 'no heat', and go outside to verify there's
plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

I have a Amana Model # NDE2335AY Electric Dryer

the most likely cause maybe a thermal fuse blown. you need to flip the top of the dryer open and look on the rear at the center. if you see the heating element on the right side of the outside casing of the element below the wires you will see a tiny thermostat look alike posibly with 2 white wires to it, that's the non resetable thermostat. you will need to replaced which comes in a kit. that should do it. after that YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DRYER VENT IS CLEAR OF OBSTURCTIONS IF NOT YOU WILL BLOW THE FUSE AGAIN!!!. good luck to you.

Will not start

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
The dryer not starting can be caused by the following:
1. The door switch. Item 20 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174285&diagram_id=28599341#d28599341
(As you just open or just close the door; listen for an audible micro-switch click. No click = bad door switch)

2. An open thermal fuse that is item 6 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174285

3. The push to start function of the timer (Item 9 below link) has failed:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174285&diagram_id=28599342#d28599342

4. Broken or defective wiring. See wiring diagrm link below:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174285&diagram_id=28599345#d28599345

The most common failures are 1 and 2 of the above list.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

How do I take this apart to fix the heater element

First unplug it. Then take a putty knife and about 1" from the corners feel for a spring catch. Just push in a little and lift on the top. Do this to both sides. Lid should lift up and lean back. Now see it there are a couple of screws holding the front face on. Should be close to the upper corners. Once you get the face off, go to the bottom of the machine look straight back on the left hand side you will see your heater. It is held on by 2 screws(1/4" head on them) about half way down the sides. Undo that and pull your heater out and replace.

No power to dryer but have power at house...is

Check the circuit breaker in your housepanel. If it is tripped, resetting it will restore power BUT usually there is a reason for the breaker to trip. There may be an electrical problem with the dryer either an overload condition or a short circuit so check it's operation to be safe. If the breaker won't reset, unplug the dryer. If the breaker resets, then you have a problem in the dryer. if it still won't reset, then you have a problem in the wiring to the dryer outlet.

My dryer we've had for about two months won't dry

I was thinking you have a bad circuit breaker. This dryer runs on a 2 pole 30 amp 240 volt breaker. The motor runs on one side of the breaker on 120vac. The heater has to have 240 volts to work correct. When that breaker is on the way out it will take a new dryer 3 or four times as long to dry the clothes. themobilian_294.jpg
If you are cleaning the lint filter out and don't have a clogged vent pipe themobilian_295.jpgthen in my opinion you have a bad circuit breaker. Seen it. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

How do I get the drum out to replace the rollers?

Usually the drum comes out the front. UNPLUG the machine, open the bottom front panel, observe and make note of the belt routing, and release it. The top panel comes off and you unscrew the front panel...lift the panel slightly and it releases.
