Soap dispenser won't stay closed
Only two reasons this may happen. One is the dispenser is just bad (most likely) or that the timer is somehow malfunctioning and sending power to the soap dispenser all the time (least likely) You will usually know if its the second because the dispenser will get really warm after the dishwasher had been on for a few minutes.

Pump continually running with F2 displayed.
There is water in the lower pan that you must access by removing the toe kick plate and then the panel behind it. you will see water in the overflow area. Clean that out and all will be well. Asko's are awesome dishwashers that capture any water they may overflow or leak internally instead of it going on your floor, then a float switch triggers the F2 error and runs the drain pump.

Asko D3120 remove door to clean
Depending on how thorough you are wanting to be depends on how far you want to dismantle the dishwasher, The outer door needs to be removed first, there are torx screws around the outside of the door which you need to remove and also 2 harder to spot ones at the bottom, The hinges are attached on the sides with another 2 torx screws each side but be careful as the hinges are under tension and can be a pain to align when putting back together. Most of the time you don't need to remove the entire door to clean it but once the outer shell is off you can get to the front of the basepan where the dirt seems to gather around the lower door, A stiff bottle brush is good for cleaning this, Be very careful with the electronics and ensure you don't get any moisture near them, Also be careful with the wiring as due to exposure to heat the wires on this model can get brittle especially where the wires curve under the machine inside the plastic protective tube...have fun.

My asko dishwasher D 1716
Hi
The issue is with the water not draining as something might
be blocking the drain pump assembly thus the water is leaking. To solve this
issue you'll have to take the front lower access panel out and then clean the
drain pump assembly completely, also clean the impeller and chopper assembly
located at the bottom of the unit. After this is done the issue should be
resolved, if not then check the float switch mechanism and make sure that is
fine. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The soap in the dispenser
That is almost always due to inadequate water temperature. It should be 150 degrees, preferably. Poor water spray would do the same thing; that could be due to clogged filter

When the cycle has finished
Hello Vanessa,
Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description and provided the dishwasher is indeed 1) an Asko D1716 and 2) filling with water, draining, heating, but not dissolving the detergent, it often is a busted wash impeller within the main motor/circulation pump.
Unfortunately the impeller itself is not serviceable, the entire motor/pump must be replaced if indeed it is broke.
Here's something you can try first though, this will indicate if the unit is circulating the water properly. Try placing both spray arms at 12 o'clock position and placing a cup upright in the top rack. If the arms move and the cup fills, you've got circulation...if neither, you don't.
Also be sure the unit is actually filling with water, this image below indicates the normal water level to look for....
Let me know what you find and I'll try and help you move forward from there. If you need direction to remove the circulation motor and pump I can do that, but it is a pretty involved repair and requires pulling the unit from the cabinet. Check those other possibilities first and tell me what you find.
I'll watch for your reply.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

My asko dishwasher will not
Hello Steve,
Welcome to FixYa.
As an Asko expert and based on your post, the good news...I can fairly confidently tell you It is likely nothing very serious, but the "resolve" requires some investigation on your part.
What the pump running continuous means is the timer has indicated a overfill.
**before proceeding turn the dishwasher power off via the home breaker panel, or unplug it from the wall if that is possible...most are hard wired to the home electrical...safety first**
The first thing to do is remove the toe panel/kick plate and inspect the base for water. There will likely be water present.
With the aid of a sponge, towels, or a wet-dry shop vacuum, absorb the water from the base, that should restore normal operation...it should be known that if you leave the unit for a few days, the water in the base will evaporate hence appearing as everything is fine again...if any other problem/leak does exist it will return.
If the unit works fine after resetting the power/breaker and soaking up any water present, it can likely be chalked up to a drain back-up or obstruction in the drain hose or pump... (it could mean a faulty drain pump so you'll need to pay close attention the next few times you run it)
**The float is primarily the last ditch safety to prevent disaster in the event of a overflow, back-flow, or leak underneath the unit and the continuous pumping is letting you know to service or call for service to the unit**
Hope this helps move you forward, or even better resolves the issue altogether. Let me know of course, I will help you move further if necessary.
Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

Pump don't stop
the anti flood is activated which means the base is flooded. take off the side pnels and you will see the water. dry out with a towel, then turn on dishwasher and try to identify the leak. usually handy the have a flash lamp to help you find it.
