Motor starts but water doesn't flow into
Start your dishwasher like you would normally. You should here water going into it first. After that you should here the motor running. When you here the motor running, turn off the dishwasher and check to see if water is in the bottom of the dishwasher. If there is no water in there, most likely you have a bad water valve or the controller is not sending a signal to the valve to open.

Well what is wrong unfortunately could be any number of things, it is well with this symptom anyway, pretty hard to tell exactly what's wrong by just this symptom. If it Fills Drains then the In & out are OK, so it must be some controller input problem?
If it is filling with water and then doesn't proceed then it is most likely a sensor or similar, one must perform the necessary troubleshooting steps to isolate and repair this unit. To do this one requires a service manual, Asko, service data is very hard to come by, for some reason. Above, is a support link for Asko.
You best bet will be to contact Asko, and ask them for a referral to a local service agent, now when he calls, ask him for a 'Quote" before allowing any repair work to be undertaken.

Hi
If you are observing that the dishes are not clean, then you’ll need to follow certain steps to be sure where exactly the issue. First thing to check for is the detergent cup and spray arms. Check if the dishwasher’s spray arms are working fine and all the holes of the arms are clear. Now try using a different detergent like gel or liquid based detergent to see if it helps.
Dishes are left unclean when the dishwasher is not filling in properly or when the water pressure is low. Check for water pressure and water inlet valve. The water inlet valve if faulty will draw very little or no water. However, if you observe that water pressure is fine and there is no issue with the Fill valve then check whether the dishwasher is draining. If it’s not draining then see if the drain hose is plugged or clogged. If drain hose is fine and the dishwasher is still not draining then there is some issue with the drain pump or drain filter. To check this you’ll need to disassemble the dishwasher and trace back the drain hose to a pump, remove the drain hose from pump and clean the debris from the pump and filter. Make sure you have lots of towels as there would be a lot of water coming out from the pump.
Next thing to check if the dishwasher is draining and filling properly is water temperature. Water temperature should be between 120 and 140 F. If water is not hot enough then heating element has gone bad, to check the element you’ll need a multimeter. Use the multimeter and check if the Rx1 reading on the meter shows reading between 1200 (1.2K) ohms and 1500 (1.5K) ohms, if not the heating element has died. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

The water will not drain from dishwasher. What should I do?
Don't know if this will help, but my dishwasher has a "propeller" device above the top and bottom racks that spins while dispensing the water. If the dishes on either rack are stacked too high (i.e. if even one plate comes in contact with that propeller, keeping it from spinning properly) the dishwasher will go through its full cycle but will not use the soap (soap door will still be closed and soap packet still intact) and will not get the dishes clean.
However, it sounds like you either have a bit of a drain issue as well--or perhaps your dishwasher acts the same way as mine (if that's the case) but ceases to drain as well if blocked.
The power button will not
the detent spring in the button has failed this locks it into open or closed position it will need to be replaced will need to remove console to gain access be sure to isolate power before work.

The sound is the drain Pump I believe ,it turns on to make sure the unit is clear of problem so it can re cycle and start again.
How do I remove the cerculation pump
Hello,
With the right technique it isn't too bad, but it does require removing it from the cabinet/cupboard. This is what I do. FIRST**Turn off the power at the main service panel or unplug the unit.** Shut off the water and undo the water supply and drain hose. Remove as much water from the sump well as possible because you'll need to lye the dishwasher on its front ( remove any dishes inside and also get some towels or a blanket to lay it on so you don't damage the front panel or control's ). Once you have the unit out and face down, you'll see the back of the circulation motor&pump assembly...this is where it gets a little tricky, but I've done plenty and will guide you through. The clamps holding the pump hoses in place are "one time" clamps so once removed they'll need to be replaced with narrow "worm gear" clamps when installing the new pump assy. Undo the wires at the side of the motor ( A good idea would be to take a picture or draw a diagram, the picture is likely better...in my case at least ). Hopefully from here you will get the new one in. Let me know how you make out, I'll watch your post.
Good luck.

There is loud rumbling noise as the water fills
Hello,
Based on your description I`d certainly think it is an inlet/water valve. It sound`s like the valve may be creating "water hammer" which can happen if it is failing.
If you go to an on-line part vendor such as repairclinic.com you`ll find a replacement valve if you enter you model number. Most Asko dishwasher`s use the number repairclinic refer to as #1467828.
Hope that answers your question. Thank you for visiting "fixya" today.
Please take a moment to rate the answer provided for you here and good luck.

Hello,
If you provide me with your model number (and serial number or approximate age) I have quite a bit of Asko literature & illustrations at home on my pc ( I'm on my iphone presently but will be home in an hour or so ) and I could potentially have one for your model.
I'll watch for your reply.

The pump on my ASKO 1716 dishwasher will not stop
Simple fix. It appears that your anti-flood feature has activated due to water pooling under the tub of the machine. You may be able to remove the water yourself or you may need help. If you want to try to remove it yourself you will need a syringe with a tube attached and you will have to get under the drum. Joe
My d1716 continues to run, but does not move
Hi
I would suggest that your flood switch has been activated. There is a float on the bottom plate or base plate of the machine. If there is a water leak, the float rises and triggers the flood switch.
Once the switch has been activated, the machine will go on a continous pump.
Disconnect the power and the hoses from the machine. Pull the machine out and lay it on its back.
If there has been a leak, you will notice water pouring out the back.
See if you can open the bottom plate, and reset the floater and flood switch. Sometimes you can access this by openning the front kick plate or front bottom plate.
Try the machine again. Leave the front bottom plate out and look into the bottom as the machine is working. If you have a water leak, this will happen again and you may be able to notice where the leak is from.
Be carful not to touch the live wiring while you are monitoring the machine.
Good luck
Ash
