When washing, the tub only

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on the info you've provided in your post, I'd suggest you have a worn motor brushes problem unfortunately...the manner in which this usually manifest it exactly as you described.

If you can provide a model number, I can likely walk you through the procedure to inspect the brushes, armature and ultimately replace the brushes or motor if necessary.

Let me know what you decide (you may opt to call a pro...but it really isn't too difficult in my opinion) and we'll move forward from here if necessary.

Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Asko front loader 10505 will

Have you checked the pump to insure the filter isn't clogged, or do you know where it is and how to check it ? In the event it is clogged or the filter obstructed, will prevent the door lock from releasing.

This is by design, but it's easy to confirm or dismiss.

Check as follows...

richroth_84.jpg

Let me know if any of this isn't clear and I'll attempt to help you move forward. Once you've cleared the pump filter or ruled out it was indeed blocked or not, you can now pull the manual door lock release located in the same area.

Asko front load washer, modle

Hi
The issue is with either clogged water lines or the water inlet valve that is bad and so the water won't enter the unit. When the water inlet valve goes bad it should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

HI our 10 year old

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

There is typically a drain filter in the pump as well as a door lock release on Asko built machines, but I'd need a model number to be specific to your machine.

This is the typical procedure for machines of the past 10yrs. or so...

macmarkus_231.jpg
Hopefully this will help. if yours is different I'll have to wait for your reply with a model number before we can proceed.

We have Asko WMachine Cylinda

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, " Machine working fine but won\'t spin or drain water out " it could be just a clogged pump insert/filter.

It's not very difficult to check though, you'll first need to remove the panel beneath the door...it should just pull forward and off.

**Unplug the washer before servicing the unit though...safety first** You may also need to have a wet-dry shop vacuum or plenty of towels as there will be quite a bit of water present.

Carefully remove the filter from the pump by turning it ( slowly to allow water out gradual )...the issue with these Asko pump inserts/filters is they can get so clogged up they are stuck and difficult to remove...

i.e.

92835c2.jpg

these can become clogged with items such as coins, hair-pins etc. that can actually damage the part. Once the filter is removed check the pump thoroughly as well as the hoses to rule out any other possible blockage.

Unfortunately once they are clogged to an extreme degree removing the filter by normal means becomes difficult or impossible without breaking it as I alluded to.

The image I attached above is an example of a pump I had to remove and disassemble to clean it out so the filter could be removed/unscrewed, hence the need for the "worm-gear" clamps had to be used to replace the original "one-time" clamps.

If you indeed break this part during your attempts to remove it, a replacement is available, Asko original part # 88 010 69 and available at on-line retailer "repairclinic.com" for about $25-$30USD.

i.e.

b4835f4.jpg
Let me know how you make out or if you require further assistance. Ultimately the drain pump itself could be faulty, but I'd certainly check for obstructions first.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Macmarkus :)

We have an ASKO W660

Hi, Welcome to FixYa. With the Asko washer it means the drain time has been exceeded, and that means either an obstruction in the drain hose, pump filter or the pump itself has failed. The most likely and also the place to start is the pump filter. If you open the small access door below the main basket door or behind the lower panel ( depending on year it was made...serial # ) there you will see the removeable pump filter. Unscrew it counter-clockwise ( you may need a few towels, sponge or a wet-dry shop vacuum ) observe the inside of the pump, clean the filter thoroughly, re-insert it and give it a test on a rinse cycle. If you unplug it for several minutes after cleaning the pump & filter it should eliminate the error message. Let me know how it goes. Regards, Macmarkus :)

I have an asko quattro

Hi, Welcome to FixYa. Have you checked the pump to insure the filter isn't clogged, or do you know where it is and how to check it ? If its clogged it won't allow the clothes to spin out enough due to water extraction being prevented. The insert/filter is located on most Asko washer below the main basket door behind a toe panel or square access door. Once found, turn it counter-clockwise to remove it and clean inside thoroughly. Let me know how you do or if you don't understand or even needing more assistance. Thanks for choosing Fixya and good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Model #13605, no power.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

There are indeed 2 fuses on the washer next to the power cord, right side of back as illustrated below...

af291dc.jpg
Further to this, if they both check out as o.k. I'd suggest you remove the top and check the wiring going to and from the fuse hubs/holders as they can and do become burnt and worn due to metal fatigue over time.

The top is easy to remove, just three screws at the back along the top ( # 25 torx heads ) and slide the top back an inch or two and up, it will come off.

You should then see similar to this ( this is an Asko dryer, but the fuse and connectors will be similar )

i.e.

11fe6f7.jpg

You can also follow this link to my macmarkus "live" account page and there you'll find a "pdf" of your machine's part breakdown including numbers and pictures. Refer to page 15 & 16, parts identified by #3 #4 and #5 of said pdf for the fuses and holders and hub assembly.

The fuse assembly subs to a complete kit now, like shown below.

This hopefully will move you forward. Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Let me know if you require further assistance or if indeed this solved your problem. Please keep me informed either way

My Asko 20004 washer has

Hello Rick,

Welcome to FixYa.

There are 2 internal fuses for the Asko washer, on the 20004 model they are located at the back next to the power cord...

i.e.

51b9842.jpg
To remove and check the fuses you`ll need a flat/slotted screwdriver and place it in the slot of the fuse holder and turn them left 1/4 turn and pull out.

eeb6fe5.jpg
**The above is an image for removing the dryer fuse, but the same procedure applies**

Once removed this is what you should see...

5734b02.jpg

I would also suggest removing the top of the washer to visually inspect the condition of the wires as a poor connection can cause the fuses to blow.

i.e.

b8ad3b7.jpg

The replacement part is a 240v 15 amp slow blow fuse. part number will be as listed below and it is a complete kit available at "repairclinic.com"

# 1460992

Hope that answers your question or better yet solves the problem altogether.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck. Please take a moment to rate the info provided and a short testimony if you will its warranted.
