When you try the water dispenser you should hear the water inlet valve which is on the back where the water supply comes in. If you do hear it then Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws.
If you don't hear the valve working the dispenser switch is bad.

Flip the wire bail down on the icemaker. It is the on-off switch control for the ice maker. When ice is manually removed the bail is normally pushed up into the off position during removal.

when you made water connections did you open the valve at the water source

remove both crisper pans and check the return are duct opennings. next check if there's a built up frost/ice on the rear wall of the frzr. is you frzr fan blowing air? if so, there's a small window inside the refrig's freshfood side back wall towards the cieling, make sure that's open.the cover should snap off. if window/damper is open, go ahead an pour hot water down the return air ducts behind the crisper pans. they look like grill slots in one or both coners

I believe that you may have a refrigerant leak on the fridge side. You will have to have this checked by a technician.

I wouldn't recommend R-134A for an existing unit conversion. The head pressure will probably be a bit high and a complete oil change will be necessary. I don't know what model you have or what the nickel plating on the plate looks like now but an R-12 machine will be pretty old. If you must convert I would use one of the interim replacements for R-12 such as R-414B also known as Hotshot, possibly R-409A, or Frig-12 that was made as a interim for the automotive a/c applications. Not knowing your availability to these various refrigerants I might also recommend checking the automotive a/c replacements to see what is available. As for amounts with such a small system and a TXV metering device I would just add 22oz as long as the head pressure doesn't get over say 175psi during freeze mode.

If the water is visible in the front, more than likely the hose has become disconnected from the door, if you look at the lower left hand corner you should see the hose come from underneath the machine and attach to the door via a plastic quick connect, it is just a push lock connection. You may have to pull of the toe kick and the left hand end cap depending on the model to see this.

there are two water inlet valves on the back of refrigerator, one for icemaker the other for water in door. the valve for the water inlet is plugged or the soelinoid coil is bad. replace faulty valve, usually about 20 to 30 greenbacks at the appliance parts store

I had the same problem, with this model and it was the high voltage control board located in the rear. Replaced the board and it is working OK. Maytag Part # 12920710 will work on this model and it is 40.00 cheaper than the one it shows when you do a parts search. It will come up 12920709. I checked with Maytag and they said 710 will work..

If you found the previous owner, that would help, but buying a new compressor with out being sure that is the problem, is not helpful. It is possible that the start capacitor is defective. NOW in most cases the relay is part of what you may need. Something called a three in one relay may solve the problem. dispenser board needs to be replaced. There was a recall on certain Ice 2O units. Call Maytag and see if your unit qualifies.You will need model and serial number.

i own a similar model for 2 years now and have had no problems with it. maytag is better than kenmore sad to say
