Cleaning out dishwasher
Hi I checked the manual on line. Here's what it said.
Dishwasher has an odor
Run dishes being held in the dishwasher through a Rinse Only cycle.
• Many dishwashers have a “new” smell when first installed. This will dissipate with use.
• Dishwasher may not be draining properly. (See “Dishwasher Will Not Drain” section.)
• For a strong odor, place baking soda in both sides of the detergent cup. Select Light
Wash cycle and allow the water to circulate for about 10 minutes. Interrupt the cycle
by unlatching the door and let it stand overnight. Restart the dishwasher by latching
the door and allow it to complete the cycle. Another alternative is to use a dishwasher
cleaning product such as Jet-Dry Dishwasher Cleaner*.
Good Luck

I have a Maytag Quiet
Turn everything off first then turn off the power at the switch. Wait 10 minutes, then turn all power back on..the electronics should reset itself..also, verify it is draining properly... cheers
Hi, I have a maytag
I had no lights on my control panel, eventhough power was good.
I replaced the control panel ($265 part), it worked for 2 weeks, then I now have the same problem.
Frustrated, I am probably going to buy new from a different manufacturer.
Whirlpool/maytag does not warranty electronic parts if you do it yourself.
Maytag quiet series 300 no power to touch controls
We have the same problem of not being able to select a wash cycle, or the 9 min rinse keeps flashing.
What I found was to turn off the breaker to the dishwasher, unscrew the inside panel ( about 12 Torx screws ), remove the black cover on the computer ( 1 hex head screw ) remove the ribbon cable coming from the front panel by easing down the plastic locking tab, then take a soft clean cloth and gently wipe the end of the ribbon cable (both sides) and reinstall. This keeps our machine working for another couple of month, when I go thru the same exercise again. I think it is condensation that makes the ribbon cable connection bad or short across two of the lands.
The handle is another problen, I have changed this 3 times.
Went out this weekend and bought a Bosch.

Dishwasher will fill up with
Hi
If you
are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to
check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try
replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check
for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and
the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to
the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.
If it
seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if
dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check
whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after
the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water
temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be
between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes.
Hope
this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

The glasses are really really
First
perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar
into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest
setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher
most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the
problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the
problem.
There are many probable causes of failure .
To
clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not
hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water
temperature.
Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.
What is the best way
Glass where should always go on top.
larger dirtier items in base (pans etc)

Dishwasher runs but gets no water...
Hi
When the Dishwasher is not filling in, you'll need to check for the water inlet valve, the filter screen and the float switch/assembly. Also check for the float assembly inside the dishwasher. When water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If these are fine then it's due to Water Inlet Valve. Use a multimeter and check for the continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

How can you tell if the disposal in the dishwasher
These really do not a conventional built in garbage disposal..there is a cutter that prevents things from getting into the pump area..it chops up foods into small enough pieces to get through..always rinse off your dishes first or you will be cleaning screens and having d/w problems..this will stop cleaning well when this thing gets all stopped up. Remove and clean the screen area and always rinse off your dishes.
My dishwasher is leaving a residue on my dishes
possible unit is not getting enough water into unit...this could be from a bad water inlet valve if the water is not high enough in unit the heater will get to hot as it is designed to heat the water to sanitize. try a new water valve and see if this cures your problem
My maytag quiet series 200
Mine would not start, and could not set any options. I read online to try resetting by pressing Heated Wash, then Heated Dry, then repeat both. I did it and my machine cleared and worked fine. Give it a try!

Why are my dishes not
If it' is not cleaning then the water is not doing the work. Check the drain hole to the pump. It can be clogged and slowing water pressure in the wash cycles.

Where on dishwasher is power
You connect your incoming 120v supply to the black and white wires on your d/w. the black and white wires are located at the bottom of your d/w on the right hand side in a small box. You may need 1/4in nut driver to open the box and there you will find your white(neutral) and black(hot power) wires located
thanks.
The top section wont wash
You may have debris in the sprayer arm jets. It is usually simple to remove the sprayer arms. Then rinse them well using the sink sprayer for forceful water power. I have sometimes had to use a tweezer to remove bits of plastic, paper, bone, or food particles. Once you've remove the debris, rinse well forcing water through to dislodge any other debris. Once you've reattached the sprayer arms, you should have cleaner dishes. Also, some brands of dishwashers have a pipe that runs up the inside back wall and connects to a pipe that runs under the top shelf. Water flowing through this pipe under the top shelf propels the sprayer arms. If the connection at the back is not flush with the "propel" pipe there won't be enough water pressure to turn the sprayer arm. Check to see if your dishwasher has this type of set up.
I hope this works. If it does, please let Fixya know by rating my solution.
Good luck!
