How do you connect an Ipod throught the aux input?
what type of input does your radio have? if its a head phone jack input just get a headphone to headphone jack wire from radioshack and plug one end into you ipod and the other into the radio, set your radio to aux and your ipods volume to 70-80%. if its an rca input, it exactly the same but you will need an rca to headphone jack wire. if its usb, just use the cable that came with you ipod.

You could run Wireless remote with this Model.
Buy it from :-

I have the iRock version in white. I am using the Clarion xmd3 unit and
added the "Y" cable splitter from eBay. The Y cable splitter allows you

So far, i am totally impressed with this remote.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Unit will not eject CD will play fine but won't
Once it gets too hot in your car, a stereo or the cd in it can warp.If you press the eject button and the music keeps playing the unit has an electrical problem you can't fix. If you press eject and the disc sounds, or looks like it wants to come out, you might have a warped disc. As a last resort, pull out the stereo and leave it connected. Then try to eject it. If it ejects, then the stereo could be binding. If you need further help, reach me via phone at

I cannot get the rca speaker wires to produce
the rca speaker hook ups are there to carry a signal to an amp and the amp to put a signal out to your speakers so with that being said you will not get sound out of them due to the fact that it carries a real real low power signal

This is typically the output IC not working. This can be due to a speaker short. The unit will need to be repaired or replaced.

WIRING DIAGRAM
red is ignition power, or power when you turn the key on. yellow is all time power. yellow keeps power all the time, this keeps your presets and clock settings saved. black is ground. once you have then hooked up you will be able to figure out your speaker wires by trail and error, they my be green/green black, purple/purple black, white/white black, ect, but these are your speakers. Once you get the power on it should be no problem to figure out the speaker wires.

Clarion XMD3 dimmer, how to get it to work?
Early dimmer switches had a pretty straightforward solution to adjusting light levels -- a
variable resistor. An ordinary
resistor is a piece of material that doesn't conduct electrical current well -- it offers a lot of resistance to moving electrical charge. A variable resistor consists of a piece of resistive material, a stationary contact arm and a moving contact arm.
A modern dimmer switch "
chops up" the sine wave. It automatically shuts the light bulb circuit off every time the current reverses direction -- that is, whenever there is zero voltage running through the circuit. This happens twice per cycle, or 120 times a second. It turns the light circuit back on when the voltage climbs back up to a certain level.

Bottom line is that boats are a hrsh environment for electronics. Moisture, salt, and vibration all conspire to undo solder joints and electrical connections. 4 years is a pretty good life span on a boat. A solder connection within the unit could have let go. A good repair shop could probably fis the bad connection but you can probably replace the unit for less.
