as these are electronic it is hard to say without the right testing equipment

most likely it needs the thermostat replacing it is possible to by pass it to see if it will run if it does replace thermostat, if not then motor relay or motor fault

ok thats a defrost element like in a stove but not as hot its located in behind the paneling in the freezer

there isnt one its all computerized

its built into the computer

You could switch it off so it defrosts this may fix it , if not check the thermostat and the automatic defrost cycle.

NEED TO CHECK IF THE DEFROSTER IS WORKING, coils will freeze up and this can cause the Freon to restrict oil flow back to the compressor causing a hard fail, do a defrost, take all the stuff out of it and put in cooler, take a fan and prop door open and fan blowing, this process can take 8-1o hrs or more, taking the coil/fan cover off speeds the process and gives you a visual of the coils and heater/defrost element if it is a metal element and the coils are free of any ice use a spray bottle and spray the heating element to see if it's stuck on and it needs a new timer All the fans must be functioning and can use regular service with this stuff it can save you thousands of dollars over the years. let me know how it works? need more help, just ask. jay fan oil eBay

It is possible that it is creating ice in the air passages due to a bad defrosting element.
Unplug it and let it melt, if the problem appears to be fixed, but comes back in a few days, that could be the problem

It sounds like either you need to have the refrigerant recharged or your compressor is going out on you. Depending on where you live, contact at least two appliance repair shops to get quotes. They are going to charge you for just showing up. Be ready for that. If it is a recharge, it is usually a flat rate plus the cost of refrigerant. If it is a compressor problem they will probably have to order the new compressor. When they come back they will charge you again for showing up plus the cost of installing a new compressor PLUS the charge for refrigerant! Good luck!
