Most likely the remote is not compatible with the Akai TV you have. Does it work correctly with the original remote?

CAN YOU SEE ANYTHING ON THE SCREEN? DOES THE MENU FOR THE TV COME ONSCREEN? IS THERE A BLUE SCREEN AT ALL? I HAVE SEEN MANY CONVERGENCE FAILURES WITH THAT MODEL THAT CAN CAUSE THE TV TO NOT POWER ON. IF YOU TAKE THE BACK OFF YOU WILL SEE A BOARD WITH 2 LARGE BLACK CHIPS LABELED STK392-040 IF YOU UNPLUG THE RED CONNECTOR AND THE TV TURNS ON THEN YOU HAVE A CONVERGENCE FAILURE AND THE 2 LARGE BLACK CHIPS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.

The bulb that illuminates your screen needs replaceing. This blinking light is an error code that tells you when your bulb blows. Please have tech replace it or do it yourself its easy.

Replace STK ICs,big black ICs will have PN# on them.
also CK low ohm resistors Mats has ICs 1-800-628-1118

You need to Clean the Mirror and Top of Tube lenses of Dust and dirt.

You have a bad Eprong which is a low price IC chip that controls your volume. You will have to replace this chip for around $15.00. A tech would charge about $50.

The tv DM power supply board,have about to dies leakage capacitors,just not dead yet.When those capcitors totally dead,finnally ur tv will not come on anymore.U know basic electronics and soldering?Just take out the DM power supply board,searches and replaced these defictive capacitors,they alway bulges up on it top or puff up on it tops.Tries Websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a whole refurbish DM power supply board or capacitors kit to do the replacement.

Bad convergence ICs. Much soldering. About $300 to fix by shop.

it sounds like a porwer board if you are good on working with tv's you and most likely get one on ebay and fix it for about 60$ allso the remote should be on there.

Look on power supply AC board themostai coupler most of the time has Poor solder connections resolder it.

Ur tv have a convergence problems,the 2 STK convergence ICS are defective.Try website like Tv repair World.com.They sell the rebuild Akai/Samsung the whole convergence board.They used the same convergence board.

Replace the convergence board. You can get replacement convergence boards from www.tvrepairworld.com

Power supply board have problems,just not dead yet.Replaced the power supply board,will solved this problems.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Please folliow the below steps one by one

Step 1: Turn on the TV

Step 2: Hold the ON/OFF Button for 10 to 20 Secs

Step 3:Without taking the hand from the ON/OFF button unplug the power cable connected to the wall outlet from the TV

Step 4:Without taking the hand from the ON/OFF button put the power cable back to the outlet

Step 5:Now take the hand from the ON/OFF Button and try to turn it ON again and check

If still you are having the same problem then please check the resolution configured in the Screen,try to reduce the Colour and the brightness of the TV

Even after that you are facing the same issue please check with the Display Card in the TV,

I am not sure how we fixed it my husband touched a button and we had sound again,

Convergence is dead.Replaced the 2 convergence ICS,should solved this problems.Try website Tv repair World.com to buy a Whole convergence board to replaced.Samsung/Akai use the same convergence board.
