On the MCBR170 refrigerator the plastic clip the holds the the temperature probe to the bottom of the freezer compartment will break off and allow the probe to hang freely in the back of the fridge. This could be the problem with the refrigerator. I had this problem and used zip ties to hold the probe in the proper position. (see attached pics).

loper the number on the thermostat dial, warmer the fridge. higher the number, colder the fridge. normal setting is about "3"

I have never seen a fridge like this .does this

Simply unplug the ice box.
DO NOT USE ANYTHING TO REMOVE THE ICE.
