How do I take top off of Fellowes PS-12Cs to clear shredder
start up by removing the out the container out, then remove the screws that are under the shredder and the base. now remove the remove the top of the base and placed upside down and remove the (2) screws off the motor each located on the left and right side of the motor. and you will access to the gear of the machine and be able to cleaned.good luck. and let me know how it go.
Runs, then full light comes on
To follow up my 12/9/2007 post, Fellows got back to me. I emailed
them the serial number and some other info and they sent me a
replacement wire harness with 2 new sensors attached, free
of charge. The replacement process was straightforward but
not trivial. If you work on cars or are comfortable taking things
apart and reassembling, you should have no problems.
The gear assembly needs to be lifted in order to replace the old wire
harness. It is heavy and greasy. Don't get grease on new sensors.
I had to cut a couple of tie wraps holding the old harness in
place. I did not have tie wraps to replace them, so I used twist
ties from a box of plastic bags.
I am delighted with Fellows for taking care of this for free without
forcing me to ship the shredder someplace for servicing.
Fellowes Shredder keeps running
You should be able to flip up the cd cover and visibly see the sensors in the center of the paper entry(look like little LED lightbulbs) Clean with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alchohol. This should solve your problem. If it doesn't you probally have a burned out sensor. call 1-800-945-4545 to check with customer service.
