You just check if your remote control hanset emits infrared light. There is an infrared light emitting diode, an LED [Light Emitting Diode], in front of your remote control hanset, from which that rays goes to the infrared sensor inside your TV, which in turn receives it and processes it. You can check its emission. You may have a cellphone with camera option. Set it to camera positon and face your remote controls' LED towards its lens, at a distance of say 1 feet or so, just press all keys one by one and see whether there is light comes from it or not. Your cellphone camera will sense it and you can see its image on its screen. If not, your remote handset is not working. Check its battery contacts for any dirt or rust, that prevents proper battery contacts. If it is Ok, just open it, it is snap fitted and you can open it. Check whether there is any loose solderings on the leg soldering of the above said LED, or a crystal used inside it. If all are ok, you have to replace the remote handset. OK.

The incoming cable should simply connect to the antenna/cable connector on the back of the TV. It's a standard connector. Normally you just need to connect the cable to the TV, then set the TV for "cable" through the on-screen menu using the TV remote or front panel buttons. However, the tuner in the TV may not be compatible with your cable system. Depending on the age of the set and type of cable system, the set may only work if you use a cable converter box from the company. If you have the cable connected and the set can't find any channels, this may be why.

Make sure that the sound output connectors (the red and white ones) are correctly plugged in (the colours corresponding at both ends of the 3-headed cable) and that the sound volume in the ATT box is almost to the max.

Are you using a cable box? If so, what kind of cable do you have going from the box to the TV?

one way is to re scan your channels from the menu option but choose the manual channel search that way you can choose exacltly the channels you want.

do you have av plugs on the tv? if so use the av wire jumpers white to white,yellow to yellow, red to red
