Try by resetting the picture settings. Brightness, contrast etc. Do a factory reset. Refer its user manual for details.

Your suspection may be correct. But this type of fault will occur due to faulty system memory IC too. First replace it. Then proceed. It seems you to be a well experienced technician. Replace the EEPROM first. OK.
Is there an spdif plug
Sorry - no digital audio input / outputs (spdif, optical, coaxial, etc.) on this TV. Standard analog "RCA" type audio connections only.

Does the screen turn on momentarily before it goes into standby mode? Do you hear clicking noise before it goes into standby? Please answer these questions so that I can help you with your problem.

Thanks for using FixYa. This light means that the power is getting to the unit however, as its not working which means that the power board should be checked. To start with open the back of the unit and then check the power supply board for any bad (bulged/swollen) capacitors. Power supply board is the board where all the power cords/plugs goes into. After you have checked that also check the main board and if you can use a multimeter to test the components on these boards. All this should only be done if you have knowledge of internal circuitry of the unit as the components consists high voltages even when in off position. When i turn it on their is nothing just the light
The flashing red light is an error code to diagnose what is wrong with it. Turn off the TV and then turn it back on and count the series of flashes, make a note of it, and re-post with that number along with the rest of your TVs information again. It is the beginning of the repair process.

for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is
working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it
produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by
overheating problems. X, Y sustain, buffer boards controls
picture, fires the gas, and many others functions. When either of these boards goes
bad common problems include negative image, no image, vertical or horizontal
stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off, and many more. You’ll need to
open the back off the TV and check for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors on these
boards and replace whichever has gone bad. All this is only recommended if you
have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these
units contain high voltages even when switched off.
