Polycom SoundPoint IP 501 IP Phone Questions & Answers
Polycom IP 501 won't reset to default when using MAC address as password
If your phone isn't on a constant reboot cycle and can boot up, then go into Admin Setting and do a Format File System reset. NOTE: Only try this if you know how to download the software files onto the phone via FTP server. Once you download the latest software your phone should be almost as good as new.

Have you tried a factory reset from the menu interface? Be careful if you do, and only choose "Format File System" as a last resort, and only if you feel comfortable enough setting up a FTP/TFTP boot server to re-provision the phone, as this option will erase everything, and then all it'll do is get stuck in a boot cycle until reprovisioned.

Voicemail is server reliant; the phone has nothing to do with it. You will need to contact your service provider or phone administrator to obtain or reset your voicemail PIN code.

What could be the problem if my ip phone will not
Are you using an AC adapter? If so, there's only really one of two things, hardware wise, that could be the cause of your problem: The phone is dead, or the AC adapter is dead. The best way to check of course, is another AC adapter with the same voltage output, then you'll know exactly which piece needs to be replaced.

We are getting a int..IP
Hello,
Have you double checked if it is getting an IP address? Chances are it does not have any internet connection that is why it is getting service unavailable.
This is what you can do. Try to get the IP block and then assign one static IP address to the IP phone.
And then let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Polycom SE225: my verizon line provide caller id does not displa
Due to the age of the SoundPoint Pro, it some of its features are not compatible with newer phonesystems, such as CableVision. There are no software updates for the SoundPoint Pro, and as long as the Caller ID is enabled there are no other settings or adjustments that can be made to workaround these kind of problems unfortunately. I recommend contacting your service provider to see what kind of caller ID signaling they are using; most likely they will be using a newer digital system, or MDMF which is not backwards compatible with SDMF or earlier CID receivers.

Failed to get boot parameters via DHCP
You didn't provide any information about your network which is ALWAYS required to provide any type of help, not to mention a solution.
"Failed to get boot parameters via DHCP, xxx seconds until reboot" simply means that the computer isn't getting an IP address from your router. Setting up your router is another entirely separate topic.
This is pretty simple though, one of three things is happening:
1. Your router is not properly configured to provide DHCP to the phone.
2. Your network cable is bad.
3. Your phone is bad (most likely the RJ45 port since the phone seems to work otherwise).
You can check for bad ports or cables by checking the port status within the router. If the port is lit up, most likely the cable and phone port are fine. This is not 100% though, replacing the cable should always be a consideration even with a lit port.
