Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD603H SS Free-standing Dishwasher - Page 5 Questions & Answers
What doe's it mean when both drawers are flashing
F1 is a flood code, meaning there is water at the bottom of the case. You need to remove the bottom drawer, clean up all teh water then reapply power and it should work. Most common reason for leak is something too tall in the tub, keeping the lid open.
Fisher & Paykel double dishwasher bottom
F2 is indicating a fault for the motor. This motor has 2 directional operations. One direction of rotating for spraying water for washing. The other for draining at the end of washing cycle. I don't think it is a problem with the motor, but there is some food clogging up its rotation path causing this issue. Need to take out the bottom stainless steel exposing the motor to clean up. I do this some times. Just need to pay attention to remove and put things back properly. Now if you are not comfortable in doing it, then call F&P serviceman. Don't call any handyman, since without knowledge about this dishwasher a person can do more harm than good and you know who will take care of the bill. Good luck.
I bought a used 7 1/2 year old fisher paykel dd603
I have the same model F&P and just experienced similar problems. My top drawer was leaking due to that "not important" thin white tube. It really sounds like you called a general appliance guy and not a trained F&P repairman. The guy who fixed ours mentioned it provides strain relief for the drain tube & wiring loom when the draw is pulled in & out. So no, it is not crucial to the washer operating, however it may be causing all your problems. On mine, when the draw was pushed in, because this tube was broken it was poking straight in to the top drawer and stopping the lid from sealing causing a FLOOD. Also the flood sensor got wet and had started to corrode and was going to fail soon anyway so it really needed replacing. Additionally, my washer had always "groaned/ R-R-R-R-R-R'd" as it wound down the lids on each compartment. The Fisher & Paykel repairman recommended I get the "kit" for it to fix these issues on both drawers. The kit replaces several parts that have been found to cause common failures over the years. He ordered it and has just been back to install it. It cost nearly $300 all up but I reckon is good value. The machine now works like new, and all of the most likely problems that should eventuate have been addressed. It is now whisper quiet when closing/opening the lid too! The downside is that F&P took 2 weeks to arrive first off, then another 3 weeks before the part arrived. :-( If you decide to overhaul your dishdrawer - you won't recognise it! ( btw - I have no affiliation with F&P either, other than my missus loves her F&P DishDrawer and I love keeping her happy! )
Beeping and red light stating U3
Hi and welcome.
You posted your question in the DD/DS603 series section, but code U3 is usually seen on a DD/DS601 or DD602 series. When this code appears, most comon cause is that the machine is set in LP or LOW PRESSURE mode and needs to be set to HP or HIGH PRESSURE.
The fault is sensing water level too high in the drawer, which can also be caused by a blocked drain or inoperative pump. I can tell you exactly how to tell if the machine in in the wrong mode if you can tell us the correct model number. The machine's pump/drain system can easily be checked by putting the machine in diagnostic mode and running the drain pump.
Fisher and paykel leak
most likely the actuators are bad. with the unit off push and hold the lock and start buttons, lock first then start, after about 6 seconds the display will flash 188. press the power button, ho will be displayed. push the start button until Ld is displayed. open the drawer in question and push the lock button and watch the lid both sides should go down evenly, push the lock key to move it up and down as needed. push the power button to exit diagnostics. if you notice that the lid doesn't go down evenly or if one side stays up replace the actuators, they come as a pair. call a dealer/servicer to order actuators. make sure to specify top or bottom as there is a difference. hope this helps
I have a fill fault problem with a DD603.
Hi. You can check the water block by disconnecting it from the main tube and se if you can blow through the water block. Remember to turn the water off before you start :-) Yet I still have the same problem as described after checking that the water block was ok
Drawers Stuck
the lid acuators have been up dated(due to this problem) though i find it hard to beleive both are bad
Won't shut off
My two draw fisher & paykel dishwasher keeps turning itself on and off. Doesnt actually start a cycle just the constant beep on and beep off. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what can be done? Thank you
Water left in the bottom of dishdraw
Try running a wash with a dishwasher cleaner product.
There may be a slight blockage of the outlet pipe caused by grease. On a kinked pipe this will be enough to stop it emptying properly.
Make sure the outlet pipe has a plastic former to prevent a kink at the highest point, and that the hose isn't flattened or pulled taut.
If after running the cleaner and checking, there is no improvement at all, the pump impeller may be obstructed or a replacement pump needed.
Hope this helps your problem.
