Reset factory settings of my Denon avr 2800
From Denon support:
To reboot, turn receiver off using the small on/off button, not the big standby button. While off press the night and pure direct button at the same time and keep holding them with your right hand while pressing the small on/off button with your left. You will see your receiver menu flash. When you see it flash let go of the night and pure direct button and the receiver will reset it self to the radio station 87.50. The receiver's microprocessor has now been set back to factory default.

When on the stand by button on display come and
protect mode comes on generally when speaker have shorted. disconnect the speakers & try. If it powers on properly try one speaker at a time till you find out which speaker is causing the problem
I just purchased a Denon
What I would suggest is unhook all of the speaker wires. Just plug the unit in. Turn it on and if it turns off then it is a receiver problem. It could be that the speakers are shorting out. Or one of the wires are shorting out.
