HI, this is the result of a failed IC on the main PC board. you can confirm by unplugging the set for 5 minutes. this will reset the main programming in the PC board(mother board). Once the 5 minutes are up, simply plug the unit into a reagular wall socket and power up. If the colors continue to be unregulated, you will need to replace teh mani board in your set.

That sounds like a faulty inverter board.

The inverter board is the high voltage board that supplies power to the back light lamps.

The inverter must be tested and eventually replaced.

did you check the power supply capacitors, all the models of astar had this problem. You can tell the bad ones because they are puffed up on top. This fixed my problem and many other peoples. They used cheap parts so cheap results, they are out of business

I just ordered these at a good price but ordered 35Volt instead.
Also replacing 3300uF caps too as they are bulged at top.

I have the same problem in the office, but, not at home. I believe the IR sensor is confused by office florescent lighting, which has an unperseptible 60-cycle flicker not charactoristic of home incandescent lighting. Energy saving compact florescent probably have the same effect.

I have attached a dark tube over the sensor with relative success. This cluge is an unfortunate compensation for poor engineering because of the reduced angle of reception (the remote has to be directly in front of the sensor).

I know more about the astar tv and models.
The only problem of this model of LTV-20PW is shows blocks when happen to some of channel on TV. Because of the bad reception or your location. To clear this problem is go to v-chip and clear off, menu, channel added. That should take care of it.

TV intercate light up but no picture or logo; Even when you replace all the caps still not powr up the TV. One of the board is defective that will cost the none communicate with other board that cost this problem. it mean some of the ic is burned. But it might come from the power supply, main board or the backlight went out. You need to bring your tv to the service.

If your TV has more then 1500 to 2000 of use, chances are that the power supply is starting to fail if you have to unplug the TV to be able to turn it ON. There are about 23 capacitors that might need to be replace to fix it.
