Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it (maximum 7 inches). Snaking out your standpipe & drain would be good. normally the numbers are the same for all uk machines, if the previous washer you used had numbers on it, just remember them and use them as you would, so if a number 2 was a 90 degree boil wash them it would be the same number for all uk machines, that is my experience, or older machines had letters example letter D = non fast coloureds
