Which optical inputs should I use for (1) audio output
Hi, the Optical and Coaxial inputs are assignable to whichever input you need them on. Plug the Optical cables from your DVD and HD cable box into any of the OPTICAL INPUTS (1 and 2 is fine, but write down your connections on paper)
You will then need to go into the setup of the AVR on the screen and assign the OPTICAL connections to the correct inputs (Probably TV/CAB and DVD.
Use the SYSTEM SETUP button on the factory remote, and you should see the on-screen menu appear on your TV. Go to INPUT ASSIGNMENT and choose the input for the DVD and assign OPTICAL 1 or 2...

How can i get it to play suround from tv its a LG
Surround sound will only be produced if the the broadcast TV program has suitably encoded audio. Also, even if the tuner is receiving surround sound, the TV must be equipped with digital audio out (optical or co-axial) to send to the Denon. Ensure that you don't just have stereo sound ( 2 X RCA red and white) coming from your TV.
How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI
The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.
Connect and Enjoy
Voice volume is low compared to background music
Could be a number of things.
Most likely your surround sound mode. Some people dont like Dolby. Try to switch to 5 channel stereo.
Other option is to turn the center channel speaker channel volume up. Voices and dialog come from the center channel speaker in Dolby modes. Post back if you need instructions.
