What kind of AV cable is used for the Kawasaki

The cable supplied with the player splits the audio feed from a single audio jack to dual RCA jacks for connection to a standard VCR or TV. The video appears to be a straight RCA to RCA type connection where a standard cable can be used.

When my dis is in

Hi,

Have you tried to unplug and plug in the Device after few minutes, say 30 minutes? If not, try it.

It is quite a common problem with this model, you can try a clean on the lens, you can use a DVD cleaning kit which you can buy from Radio Shack or similar or you can clean manually.

To clean manually unplug from wall and leave two minutes.Remove cover identify the lens as a small round glass lens in the DVD tray assembly.Clean with the glass lens with a cotton bud or similar, use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol or do the clean dry, any other cleaning product could damage the unit.Remove any foreign objects in the unit.Reassemble and test

If no luck then you will need a new laser assembly I'm afraid.

It's not worth it as the Cost of ONLY lens would be around $100. ( Original ).

Now, regarding Caps. Yes, it could be another Problem. When you Open the Player, you would see Caps like :-

2c604ec.jpg

If you see, Cylindrical Type Components, all those are Caps. There might be chance that any one of these could be Leaked / Bulged / Swelled. Make sure that there is no Cold Solder Joint and there is no other Broken Component on the Board.

If you find anything Swelled / Leaked / Bulged, you could De Solder and Re Solder the New Caps. The caps could be easily available in the Market. You could buy it Online or you could go to Radio Shack, Fry's.Make sure to Buy a Similar one. I have seen , if you buy a Low Quality Cap, it could again Swelled or Blown.Usually Bad Caps have Ammonia Kind of Odor.

The Cost of Caps would be less than $20.

I hope that the above information would be useful for you to Resolve the Problem.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

This sounds like a stuck lid switch, much like what you find on a laptop. Look for a little button close to the hinges and tap it to see if its stuck. This player just isn't old enough to have a dead backlight yet.

The DVD player is not playing the dvd, it says

No disc error is usually caused by dirty optical lens or a faulty lens. Turn it off, unplug it, then try cleaning it with a very soft dry cloth and then try playing a cd which has no scratches.

The blue color part, that's called optical lens. It looks like a glass but its not a glass, its a plastic cap for the laser to go thru to read the discs. Never apply any wet solutions on it. Just use a soft dry cloth to rub off the dirt on it.

We have managed to lose the rechargeable battery

Oh my, not good. Well, you do need a battery pack. Contact the MFR for replacement pack via customer support, or check the voltage on the side, if using 9V, get a battery holder that uses 8 batteries[2 Xtra cells are used to disable the shutting off at too high a voltage due to the missing battery pack]go to battery space.com, and go to wires/connectors, and get the laptop connectors to make an external battery pack. Therte is a battery pack charger/I recommend accupower evolution. You have to google and go to other sites to get the rechargeable batteries and battery holder. You can get by with alkaline, but they would go rather fast due to the large screen size. You need that good brand name so they can be evenly charged due to the batteries being able to be run down further. You wont be wasting much voltage with alkaline due to the lower cutoff voltage, but 1st try contacting the mfr or googling to get that battery pack!!!I Hint: if using battery pack and you still want to add more battery life, drop the batteries to 6 on a 9V circuit. with original battery pack on, a 9V circuit would use 6 D cells on an external pack, 8 for a 12 volt.

Sound works but screen is dark

In all likelihood, your monitor's backlight has failed. It can be fixed, but it will cost a good deal of money to do so. It may be cheaper to just get a new one.

If you want to fix it, take it down to an electronics store, and get a price quote.

Pic. looks like it needs tracking dvd pic. looks like dvd

If the squigly lines is what I think its, distorted image due to multi colored bands, try to put in a different DVD. Some of the DVDs can have different standards being followed such as PAL or NTSC. Just like broadcast signals and VHS tapes, DVD also follow this and some of the players cannot outright translate the standards. Try to manually play with the two standards and see if it works. You unit should work with both PAL or NTSC. If the settings on the player does not work, I think that it is more on the disc especially if it was burned.

As soon as I turn

You may need to isolate the problem. Double-check the connection and make sure that the cable is properly connected to the TV.

You may want to swapping the inputs to eliminate the possibility that there is a problem with the video input used by the DVD player.

Or, try power cycling the DVD by turning it off, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, then turn it back on after 5 minutes.

Try also connecting it into different TV.

If you get the same problem, you may need to bring it to the authorized repair shop for the second opinion or for possible repair.

Hope it helps and have a great day!

Replacement plug in charger for kawasaki dvd player

On the back/bottom of the unit somewhere, there should be a label that says something similar to:

"Power: 9VDC 1300ma"
and there will be a little picture of the polarity of the plug.

If so, take your Unit to Rat Shack or local electronics repair store and ask them for a replacement power supply.
