my tv will power on and the screen just stays blue

You can probably get an original remote here:remotes.comIt sounds a lot like you have either an analog signal on a ATSC input or vice versa and this would also prevent audio from being properly processed.

This kind of symptoms is an indication that the backlight of your unit is not working.

You have to check the output voltage of the power supply feeding the inverter board. If it is present, you have to replace the inverter board, if not, the power supply is faulty.

Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Yes, you just have to remove the stand first, the screws will be Metric M5 or M6 that you can get from HD or LOWES, the length will be depended on how thick the bracket is.
When you buy mounting bracket kits, it should come with a bag of screws for attaching the TV to the bracket.

Not without a donor tv with the exact same type of screen. These screens are in the low to mid 1000s of dollars just for replacements. The bad news....usually not worth replacing.

Looks like the logic control circuits of the tv have failed. But before we arrive at the conclusion, is this a universal remote you are using or the original. If its universal, have you used it with this set before or do not know the right codes to use it with this tv?

That is normal. Most HDTV's have a format or picture size option on the remote or menu. It will give you options like full, stretch ot zoom to fill in the blank spots. The problem is those settings can also distort the picture size so people look funny.

I have not repaired this particular models. I have repaired flat screen LCDs, and have seen and heard the problem you describe. You have many, many bad capacitors in the signal board. The signal board is the one with all the RCA jacks and RF connections. You will need an ESR meter to check and find the capacitors that are bad and replace them withe same voltage, Mfs and at 105 degrees. You may have bad capacitor in the power supply. But the majority are in your signal board. You may find up to twenty caps that need replaced. See MCM Electronics.com to purchase an ESR meter. This meter will pay for itself in no time. You may purchase the capacitors from the same company. Replacing the signal board will be quite expensive. So with time and patience it can be repaired. cant find the place to connect the cable to the tv

Hello, to prevent the problem stems from the remote control, you better get him out of the room.

This is due to the power supply. You need a full replacement as Protron power supplies are very difficult to diagnose/repair. Once you replace the power supply you will be good to go!
