try to clean the lens first but be careful coz the lens is very sensitive

S-VIDEO only carries the video signal and NOT the sounds.

You would also need to hook up the audio leads (red nd white phono) also for it to fully work.

This is normally caused by a poor S-VIDEO lead or a TV that does notproperly accept S-Video input.

First off check all your leadfs are correct and of a good quality.

Then check that your DVD player DOES accept karaoke discs as not many will.

Some Karaoke disc's will only play on a proper Karakoe player due to the way they are formatted on the disc.

on the remote control there is a np button just press it and it restores the colour back to the screen i spent 20 dollars for a cleaner for my optic laser which had no effect whatsoever and thought it was a problem with the optic laser as your engineer diagnosed it would have cost me a couple of hundred pounds to have replaced thank heavan for my call to the company i purchased it from they told me immediatly what to do and bingo it worked and the information i recieved from your two experts was totally wrong

your player or tv maybe set on pal secam try changing it to auto or ntsc

Mine done the same, suddenly froze in mid play and would no longer read any discs. Kept saying 'no disc'.
In a slight bit of frustration I gave it tap on the top front middle!
Strange to report that it has worked perfectly ever since! (fingers crossed).
Bit of a cowboy fix but it worked....

I found the drive mechanism to be stuck. Also there was a little oxidation on the pins on the drive tray plug. Solution was to move the lever underneath and to the front of the drive to free the mechanism, and remove and clean the pins on the plug. Worked fine after that

i have finally found a solution to this problem press the repeat button on the front panel of the player twice till it says repeat all and it then plays the whole cd

did the same thing on setting up! there is either a p/n or v-mode button on the remote try pressing it a few times! hope this works for you

There's a multiplex button (MPX maybe) on the left front of the player. By hitting it you get leads only, background only or both. Be sure, though, you have a multiplex CD. Otherwise you'll only have background and no lead. I learned the hard way. Watch or scan for multiplex or lead vocals. Good luck...

I replaced this unit with another one I got on Ebay (different brand). Had the same problem! So I figured I was doing something wrong and I was. Eventually I disconnected the digital coax (which I was using for top quality) and just used regular A/V leads. Apparently digital coax can't take the Karaoke music AND the mic audio across to the receiver at the same time. Everything works now. Hope that helps you.
