Eureka 4700A Maxima Bagless Upright Vacuum - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I changed my belt using the step by step
Hi there SmartAlec from
NelsonVacuums.com.au here. I would think that it is one of maybe things
- the bearings on the brush are worn - can be checked by removing brush and holding either end and see if it turns when you hold it as if it was fitted. If no then you will need to replace the bearings or the brush complete if it is sealed.
- The base plate is not fitted quite right so that it is pressing on the brush at some point - remove base plate and turn machine on see if it spins without the plate. If it does then just check alignment of the plate and refit.
If this isnt right follow me up im more than happy to try again with a bit more info.
happy vacuuming :)
The brushes are not rotating
Assuming a drive pulley is not loose and the motor turns, try turning the brushes by hand. If they require much effort they may be jammed by dirt. My cat is a constant culprit!
Metal Spring in Belt area?
Yes the metal spring is used to pivot one of the rollers in that area.
You would need to take it apart one more time and check to see if any of the roller travel up or down while you press it with your fingers. look to the edge on either side for a place to attach the end of a spring. then a place on the chassis to add the other end of the spring. Then redo the belt.
Vacuum shut off
The motor gets hot when airway is blocked. Check your filter for debris deep in the pleats, clean it out, also check the hose for blockage.
High pitch whirr
when you remove the canister to empty it there is a filter on the bottom that can be removed and cleaned or replaced check to see if there is also one on the top.
Need part no for vac
Try the Eureka website. They have the parts listed by vacuum model, and they use pictures if you can't remember the model exactly.
Eureka 4700a bagless vacuum
it's probably the lower tube that is plugged, disconnect the lower tube at the elbow, use a large pipe cleaner (bent at the end your pushing through, as to not puncture the tube itself.) it should emerge just behind the brush. check in and around the pipe cleaner for any debris.
Cut off while vacuuming
If it went dead, and restarted after it cooled off, then check for a clog in the hose or the dirt inlet by the brush roll. If it won't turn on, you could have a bad switch, cord, motor or a bad electrical connection.
Brush won't spin
likely the belt is pinched in the guide. try taking it out and re seating it
Broken piece
You will have to replace the brush roll, part #60844-5, belt # 61120B. You should be able to get them from a repair shop, get the right one or it won't work right. You maybe able to go eureka.com and order direct.
Eureka the Boss bagless
Sounds like you have a clog somewhere. Check the filter inside the dust compartment, if is very dirty it won't allow ait to flow thru, Part #62132, DCF-H filter. Check the hose, take it off if you can and drop something in it to see if it comes out the other end, if it doesn't, then the hose is clogged. Check bown by the brush roll, the inlet may be plugged. Also if the belt is more then say 6 months old, you may want to replace it, I am sure it is strertched, part #61120B, extended life belt.
