M&S Systems MCD-6 6-Disc CD Changer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I do not know these units but I have worked on multiplay and many devices, the main reasons I found is either lubrication and or drive belts. Over time belts stretch from decay as they age also silicon based grease I have found becomes divided between a liquid and paste with the liquid part making a puddle on a units lower area. This causes things not to operat within a suitable time due to friction or lack of power from those belts which result in error numbers. A good service is the only answer with a good service engineer who I am sure will enjoy cleaning out the residue slime, clean parts and relubricate. Sarcastic of me maybe but it was to make you aware that it may be costly due to time involved. Hope this helps.....

If the serviceman took it in good faith to repair and it was never returned I would contact him and demand it back, or the authorities will be involved.

no power no action. check power source or call your place ware u brout it. if no help on get n it up n running u mite have 2 find a way 2 reboot it. or your unit is off system check.

Hi,
First press and hold Track-Up and Mode buttons at same time on unit for three seconds to reset disc player, then check if cd get release.
In some cases, performing a reset on the MCD6 may resolve your problem. First try resetting the MCD6 player by pressing the TRACK UP and POWER buttons at the same time. If that does not work, remove the plastic front cover by pulling straight out and press the RESET button below the keypad. If your MCD6 player still does not operate, please take off cover from cd player and try to manually release wedged cd in unit.
If loading gears worn out then nothing will help to fix the unit, please contact local repair shop or M&S Systems at (214).358-3 196

The cd pick up device is bad, will try to upgrade entire system

Here is a part of the user manual:
OPTIONAL DOOR RELEASE - always active. If the system is set up to
use the Door/Gate release function, the VOLUME UP button and VOLUME DOWN
button are used to open the Entry Door or Gate. The Door/Gate release is activated
by pushing both the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons at the same time and
holding them for 4 seconds. The display will show "door" when the buttons are
pressed at the same time and it will show RELS when the door release is activated.

I called the company and this is what they said:

Based on the problem description, there is nothing you can check to try and get the radio to work again. The most likely cause is a Tuner Module failure due to electrical surge. You will need to send the MC602 to us for service. We will need you full address, phone number, and the serial number or date code from the back of the MC602. The serial number/date code will be on a white sticker and may have a barcode on the sticker as well. When receive you information, we will issue you a Return of Product Authorization (RPA) number and instructions for returning the unit. There will be a repair charge and that can be provided with the RPA number.

Are you using the charging cables that came with it? That is a type C. Are you securely attaching the charging cable? A loose connection would keep the battery from charging. If you had a low battery, you would see a red light. That you have no light at all suggests there is no charge left in the battery. I'm not sure the reset will work with no charge which is why you ought to check the cables first. But turn it off and then hold down the Multifunction button for 10 seconds to reset it. Then turn it back on and see what happens. If you can, test the charging cable on aother device. If you have another type C charging cable, try it, just to eliminate a bad cable. If these suggestions don't work, you may try the manufacturer's customer support.
