Can a Kerosene leak outside be dangerous?

It could be a fire hazard and if enough leaks into the ground the EPA could get involved. Probably a lot cheaper to fix it.

Not much heat output, and fumey model BY100CEA

Check the nozzle, if it is dirty you can get a stream instead of a spray and the fuel won't burn completely.dI would also make sure the blower wheel or fan is supplying enough air for compustion.

I am having trouble getting my 50,000 btu torpedo heater started.

your nozzle is plugged.to clean the nozzle you take the cover off, slide the motor out of it's slots and push it to the rear of the unit, remove the air line and fuel line, remove the three 3 screws holding the nozzle assy. on.once you have the nozzle assy. out you will see a brass nozzle on the inside, put nozzle assy. in vise to hole it.take 5/8" socket and remove the nozzle from holder.take the nozzle holder out of vise and put brass nozzle in vise.do not put a lot of pressure on it or you'll bend it.by the way pointy end down so you can take the nozzle apart.once you have the nozzle in vise, take a pair of plyers and carefully remove the inside of nozzle,it doesn't take a lot of pressure to turn the inside.just loosen it don't take it apart yet....remove it from vise and turn it uside down so pointy end is now facing up.rotate it over the work bench so you don't drop the piece that's inside.very tiny piece..... that the nozzle,it rotates inside to make the spray pattern.look through it and see if you can see light throught it.take an air nozzle and carefully blow through it....both ways.look again and see if it's clear.once it is replace everything in reverse order.do not put much pressure on the inside piece of nozzle when you tighten back in with the plyers.hope this helps........let me know

TORPEDO KEROSENE HEATER DOES NOT STAY LIT. I

The fact that it lights up at all should tell you its not the ignitor. Does the unit have a thermostat? What temp do you have it set at? Does the unit blow into a corner or some way that the therostat is being activated to cut out by the hot air getting back to it before the rest of your space gets warm? There are so many questions.Does the flame go out first,or does the power to fan kik out with the flame? This could be related to a faulty or out of position tip over cut out, witch is for safety.I'm going to help you by teaching you to help yourself. Troubleshooting is a series of tests. Most every machine is nothing but a bunch of valves, and switches.First find out if its running out of fuel,,or cutting operation all together. If its running out of fuel to the firing rack you be able to see and hear it,,,NOTICE that it looks and sounds like its petering out.If its cutting fuel, fan, and power instanly then its most likely the thermostat shutting it off ,,or the tipover cutout. It could be a multitude of things. The best way to find out is to figure out how the machine works,,,understand the componits that make it up and what they do,,then single them out one at a time and test them to eliminate them from the list of possible problems. UNDERSTAND? If the ignitor clicks and the rack lights up,,,its not the ignitor, after all the ignitor IS igniting. Find out more about whats up with it and repost,,good luck bud.

I have a Bonair evap aircon model VSL75 with the comfort controller and I want to reduce the water dumping cycle down. I have tried the manual but that sequence didn't work.

Here are the steps you might want to follow: Setting the Draining Cycle Times (Dump Interval): This setting controls how often the unit dumps the water. You can adjust this setting to reduce the frequency of water dumping. Setting the Drain off Delay Time (Dump Delay): This setting controls the delay time before the unit starts to dump the water after it has been turned off. If adjusting these settings doesn't work, there could be other issues with your unit. For example, a continuous water dumping problem could be due to a faulty dump valve or a problem with the float valve.

Why do you need to dismantle this? Some of these types of cooler do not have replaceable parts inside. They are usually classed as a "Throw away" machine. It is often easier and cheaper to replace it than repair it.
