Hoover s3639 vacuum...cord does not rewind
I had the same problem with my Hoover s3639. The cord rewinder started squeaking, and retracted less and less of the cord each time, until it finally stopped retracting the cord at all. Here is what I did. I hope it will work for you as well. Open the covered tool storage and remove the tools. You should see three screws. Unscrew the screws. Remove the cover. You should see the motor for the vacuum and the cord rewinder. Between the vacuum motor and the white wheel where the cord is, you should see two brass wheels that turn into each other in order to operate the cord rewinder. Spray a small amount WD-40 between the two brass wheels. This should solve your problem.
On/off switch does not work
Hey,
Are you 100% sure it's the switch? I have the same vacuum and it stopped working and I also took off the top only to find that a twisted wire (red) behind the motor wore right through and wasn't making contact.
If it is the switch, it looks like you have to sqeeze the ends and push (NOT pull) it through. The problem then is that you'll run into the ON/OFF button. Now the problem becomes how to remove the button, and I don't know how to do that.
Rollers are to low and tearing up carpet.
unfortunatly you cant adjust the height on that type of machine, and new carpet no matter how good or expensive can shed for up to a year, the best thing would be to buy a cheap carpet rake ( not a garden rake ) that would get up all that fluff.
Got a numatic henry (green
Hi.
Very simple this one.
The plug is molded type this kind of plug is sealed so you cant make any repairs internally other than change the fuse.
You will need to cut plug off & fit A new 13amp plug.
There are only 2 wires to reconect to new plug these are
BROWN to L
BLUE to N.
& thats it simple.
