Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Soap
It is recommended that you use Hoover soap. You can use other soap that states it okay with hoovers.
Dusty smoking smell, stops working, trips out power in house.
you forgot to say if it is a 3 phase machine
if it is 3 phase then a phase in the unit is overheating and that will stop the machine then blow the breaker as all phases have to draw equal current
if it is a single phase then the start/ run capacitor or centrifugal start run points are not breaking at speed and so the start windings are overheating and causing the breaker to trip
Take it to an electrical motor rewind shop and have it properly tested with test equipment
How to repair the lower intake flexible hose on the Hoover Agility
hoses are screwed into the end bits by turning in the do up direction
original equipment hoses are normally glued into the end piece but with a bit of determination and a flat bladed screw driver, the glue can be broken and the end removed
fit the good section of the hose into the end and screw it in using an un do direction
if it is the plastic fitting itself that is broken then weld the broken section back together
Basically use a soldering iron and heat the sections until the plastic melts back together
There are u tube pages that show how easy it is to do as they heat weld all sorts of plastic and tips on how to improve the strength of the repair. go google and type in how to weld plastic.

Why is the recovery tank on Hoover f6212-900 not filling up?
Hello! There are a few things that can cause the cleaner to lose suction. Please try these quick steps.
1. Remove the dirty water tank.
2. Clear the filter screen of any dirt or debris.
3. Turn the cleaner on, check your motor suction by the filter screen.
4.. Replace the dirty water tank making sure it is flush to the cleaner on all sides.
5. Lift up on top of nozzle and slide off cleaner.
6. Wipe debris off nozzle and front of cleaner with a damp cloth.
7. Replace dirty water tank.
If you felt suction by the filter screen your suction should now be restored. Hope this was helpful!
Hoover Steam Vac Dual V brushes won't turn
The brushes are driven with air pressure from vacuum motor. The switch merely opens a small door to allow air flow. usually there is a screen that is plugged that stops air flow which stops the brushes from turning. I too only used the appliance once and it broke. The round disc (turbine) had become jammed with no major obstruction. Cleaned anyway and put back together and it started to work again. I am so done with Hoover--no more of their products for me. To fix. the whole brush motor had to be removed and disassembled and cleaned. Not impressed at all!
Steam Vac Is Not Dispensing Soap
Try using a rubber tipped air nozzle and compressed air at the end of the soap dispenser line. Brief intermittent blasts of air should take care of it.
Hover f7458-400 carpet cleaner brushes wont turn
Based on the hints above I cleaned the filter as it was clogged. That did not fix it. Then I took a stout screw driver and used it to turn the square brush drive, The drive broke loose and I am in operation with no dis-assembly. Hooray!
Describe your F6212-900 / F6215-900
I took out all of the screws in the housing, separated the left side from the right from the handle down. There were three screws on the underside of the upper unit. (right where the tanks sit). O those were out I could finally get to the broken hose.
I have a Hoover Steamvac
Check your hose flap on top of the pickup. Sometimes when you use your unit with the scrub hose, the plastic flap is not completely closed. The lower part of the vacuum head will not pick up water if it is venting air.
You may have to reset the bucket into the base and use the locking levers to secure the bucket to the chassis. If it still is not picking up, the water supply line may be venting. We have one of the Hoover Max wide series and those are the problems we had to overcome to get ours back to working.
