Broken part on coffer maker
Replace it with the same sized tubing that you can buy at the Hardware store. just get the length you need they sell it by the foot. DFD
Dose not heat
If on/off light comes on but no heat---remove bottom part. The heating coil looks like a horseshoe(biggest piece you see when bottom is opened). On the ends of the horseshoe near where wires come out there should be metal clips on heating coil holding some wires. Slip the wires/covers from clips and pull back the covering over the part that the clip was holding(you will be exposing the fuse).
Take piece of wire and connect to 1 side of fuse then connect other end of wire to other side of fuse so you have by-passed the fuse. HANDS AWAY FROM MAKER-- plug in maker and press on/off button. put your hand near where the coffee pot sits and check for heat. As soon as heat is detected, unplug maker and REMOVE WIRE !!. This confirms the fuse as the problem. Remember that there usually is at least 2 fuses. You need to verify the size of (thermal fuses). Both of mine were 184 degrees C. Check "goodmans.net" for your size thermal fuse. You will need to crimp new fuse in instead of using solder. Good luck
Gevalia cm650 termal fuse
You need to verify the size of thermal fuse. My cm-500 had 2 fuses, both 184 degrees C. I have also heard of there being 2 different sizes in some makers. Check out "goodmans.net" to order proper size. You can try Radio Shack but they very seldom have the needed fuse sizes(either too high or low). You will need crimping connectors that I did get from radio shack and a pair of pliers.
Water not heating
If it's full of water & the red light is on, check if the maker is heating up the warming plate..if not, odds are you may have a bad heating element. Brewing cycle won't start without it.
Gevalia 12 cup coffee maker slow brewing
The pipes are blocked with build up scale or water dirt. You can try to descale the machine by adding in the water half cup of lemon juice and brew it without coffee leave if for 20 min and the clean it by brew it with fresh water these will make a diference then try this again in a week.
Leaks water from bottom
Is it really from the BOTTOM, or is it spilling out the overflow holes in the back, then running down to the counter? If it's just spilling out the overflow holes, don't put quite so much water into it.
If it's really leaking from the bottom, and it happens even if you put only one or two cups of water into it, then the little hose running from the heating element inside up to the top filter has cracked or come off. You can fix that by opening the bottom of the coffeemaker (UNPLUGGED FROM THE WALL). You'll see where the rubber hose connects to the heating element and runs up along the rear tank. Check the connection where it attaches to the heating element.
